Hello everyone,
I was recently diagnosed with hypersomnolence on 4 May 2012. My doctor then informed me that I will be put through a Medical Evaluation Board around July. I have been doing my research about the disorder and know that most people receive 30% for the disability. I have other disorders that have been diagnosed and I was hoping if anyone could help me figure out if I could possibly receive a higher percentage when it comes to IPEB time at Randolph AFB.
Here are my disorders:
Hypersomnolenc (May 2012)
Hole in septum from corrective surgery (March 2012)
Scoliosis (March 2009)
Sleep Apnea (October 2008)
When I was diagnosed with sleep apnea I was told it was mild and I could have the throat and nose surgery to hopefully correct the snoring and possible sleep apnea. I had the surgery in 2010 and did not receive another sleep study until April 2012. The study from April reflected that my sleep apnea was now non-exsistent, but my day time study reflected hypersomnolence. My ENT doc said that it would virtually impossible to correct the hole in my nose which causes nose bleeds and blockage from blood build up.
If anyone could help this would be much appreciated. I am worried because I have a little girl on the way and I would like to know if I should fight to stay in or look forward to getting out and finding a job.
