MEB Initiated During Security Clearance Renewal..

Hey everyone,

I am currently in the beginning of the process to have my security clearance renewed.
At the same time, I found out my provider will be submitting me for an MEB in the next couple weeks.

Does anyone know if this effects the outcome of my security clearance?

I’m terrified to lose it and then be med boarded from the Army months later.
 
Your MEB should have no effect on your security clearance renewal process since there is no guarantee that you will be found unsuitable for Service plus your clearance never really goes away as long as you do your required periodic review especially since Continuous Vetting (CV) has been implemented. You clearance is normally good for up to 2 years after leaving Service, just switched off until you get a new sponsor.

My clearance is currently in the renewal process after being overdue - originally got it in 2019.

I agree it SHOULDN’T have an effect on my clearance but..
My worry is that they will place my renewal investigation on hold pending the results of my MEB. Possibly setting me up for failure when transitioning.

I was hoping someone knew of a regulation or policy I can point to.

Just had mine renewed and had no issues and currently going through an MEB for Mental Health.
 
Same here, mine is in the process of being renewed. I asked the same questions to the security manager here and he reassured me that the processes are separate and one doesn't hinge on the other.
