Hello, I am currently a full time member in the air national guard. In December 2016, I was suicidal and swallowed 8 sleeping pills because i have been having relationship issue with my ex-girlfriend. I went to the ER the next day voluntarily and the doctor said I was very cooperative and didn’t see any reason to keep me overnight. So I was able to go home. In February 2017, I was feeling depressed and fearing the worst I called my First sergeant and he wanted me to stay with him and his family for the night just to be sure I am safe. At the request of my supervisor I had to turn in any paperwork from the hospital to our Medical Group. Of course they wanted me to be reviewed by the Medical Board in DC. Since April 2017 I have seen a therapist, once a week for a few months and it eventually became every two weeks and once every month. I was diagnosed with anxiety and depression. Since I have been going to therapy, according to the paperwork I have made pretty good progress. My work hasn’t been interferred or hindered. I have been on 2 TDYs recently. I am not on any pills or medications. I’m pretty active and not as depressed as I was a year ago. Now my packet is sent to the board to determine if I am fit for duty. Based on what you have read do I have nothing to worry about and it looks like I will be able to stay in? Cause I really want to stay in and will do anything to prove otherwise. Please and thank you
