Hello,
So I am totally new to this and have tried to educate myself as best as I can but I still have questions and am unsure of my future. I was just referred to the MEB. I am AGR, have almost 15 years of TAFMS time and 20+ years total in the guard. I actually want to stay in for my full 20 AGR, but now that it has gotten to this point, I am worried I probably wont. My commander put "do not retain" on the CIS due to my physical condition that prevents me from deploying to austere enviornments. I am, however, fine to go TDY CONUS and of course fine in regards to completing my job at home station with no problems. What are the odds I can appeal and stay in? Does the MEB usually refer to IDES is the Commander doesnt want to retain? And once it goes to IDES, does that mean I am for sure getting separated or retired? Is there anything I can/should be doing to improve my odds of being retained? I know I should be hearing from my PEBLO soon and they "should" help....but I have read a lot where a having legal counsel is smart. Just hoping there is a chance for me to stay in...!
