Hello all!
Been reading through the forums for awhile and still get confused on some of the stuff I read. Any help or guidance you guys can provide would be welcome and appreciated. I will try to get a quick history on whats going on:
First I am AD AF been in 23 years and some change. I should also mention not an alcoholic haven't drank since 2013. In 2004 I was diagnosed with acute pancreatitis. Got treatment and went on with my life. In 2013 I had multiple acute pancreatitis episodes from stones in my pancreas. I was a monthly ER patient for months. Always drugged up with morphine and liquid diet. I was supposed to PCS but declined until I got a more permanent treatment solution. The military was ok pcs'ing me to misawa but I felt uncomfortable because going because they couldn't get me treatment at my current duty station. It took a few months but I got the stones removed! In 2017 I had a acute/chronic pancreatitis attack. PCM recommended code 37 in May 18. Was able to review narsum after it was submitted to commander in August. Which the peblo was not very informative on anything. My commander/1sgt submitted return to duty. Which honestly I felt was wrong because my cognitive functions have been slowing down, which I put in remarks block. Got from AFPC code C2 off the top of my head and return to duty. Just recently had two pancreatitis attacks after more stone removal within 3 weeks of that surgery. Working with another specialist to possible receive pancreas transplant which if it works no more pancreatitis but might or will be type 1 diabetes. I also put in for retirement last month with approved date 1 Jun 2019. So here goes my questions:
1. First can I still appeal the first ruling on the MEB? I honestly don't think I am fit to serve any more. Mentally I don't feel like I can keep up anymore. I also have sleep apnea, plantar fasciitis, lower back problems/pain, prehypertension, prediabetes, and some other things I can't think of right now. Probably depression...
2. Will removal of my pancreas start an MEB? Will the AF ensure I finish my transplant before release My physician says doing another MEB with retirement date set is to much work................Which I probably been more pissed about his answer, but on narcotics for pain right now.
I apologize if anything is not clear this last or seems all over the place. My brain is still out of whack for now. And any help/guidance would be very welcome appreciated.
