Multiple Knee Surgeries

Looking for some advice.

Background: 26 yo USMC Infantry officer
I have had 4 knee surgeries while in the military.
First one Left ACL reconstruction w/ Meniscus scope
Second Left ACL/MCL Reconstruction w/ Meniscus scope
Third Left ACL Reconstruction w/ Meniscus scope
Fourth Right ACL Reconstruction w/ Meniscus scope

Recently I have reinjured my left knee again. I am currently waiting to see an ortho in a few weeks and am currently doing Physical Therapy for it from my PCM while I wait. I know for certain I have a meniscus tear(initial MRI reading) and the PT thinks I have at least a partial ACL tear again but was unwilling to do all the tests needed as I had an ortho appointment already scheduled. MRI results were inconclusive as there is a lot of metal in the knee from past surgeries.

I do not believe I have ever been officially put on LIMDU for any of these prior surgeries (stubborn and wanted to stay out of the system/doctors never put it in).

Based on this and doing some reading I am concerned that the doctor is going to put me in for MEB/PEB as clearly I have some issues with knee stability. Is this a realistic concern? Any experience with similar issues or advice is appreciated.

Thanks

Yes, it is a realistic concern that you will be referred to an MEB. At some point, your prognosis for your left knee is going to become poor, simply because you have failed to recover. That's the bad part of the news.

The good part of the news is that as long as you can do your job, and your surgeon believes you can recovery again, then he may very well do the surgery to see how well you recover.

The question is, what do you keep doing to cause your knee to go out and could there me a underlying medical reason for it.

Thanks for the response. The first few were from wrestling however the most recent two were doing very basic things. IE the injury I just had was during running the bases during a softball game.

Well got the MRI results back mostly inconclusive due to metal from previous surgery.
However what they could see was a complex meal meniscus tear and complete loss of Cartlidge on the weight-bearing portion of the medial side
Not sure what the complete loss of Cartlidge mean does any one have any experience with that. Still have a few weeks till I see ortho trying to get some understanding before. Thanks
