My 199 ...

So, I got a call saying the VA sent my ratings to PEB and PEB recieved them on the 16th, I was told it will take a while to get my 199 because of some "case review" they are having.....wish i knew how long for sure...

It's all a waiting game, swift. Appreciate it, as you can get some financial affairs in order and start working on what you would like to do next. There may be a six month long wait before you get money from the government after getting out. I understand it's hard to plan anything because you just don't know when you are getting out or how. I would recommend that you pay any bills down you can while saving what you can. It's tough getting back on your feet after you get out.

I would tell my PEBLO to get me more information. "What is the case review and how long does it normally take?", is what I would be asking. Sometimes during this process, you just can't find out the info you want. This process takes the patience of a saint. Hang in there, you are almost done with the IPEB.

also im confused...so it leaves my peblos hands...goes to the PEB...get my unfit memo...then off to VA...get va ratings...then off to the PEB again?
 
Correct, the PEBLO puts it all together and gives it to the MEB. The MEB determines whether or not it should go up to the PEB. Concurrenly the VA does a C&P evaluation. If the PEB finds you unfit for service, the packet is sent to the VA DRAS for ratings and given back to the PEB. The VASRD and VA C&P evaluations are the basis for the ratings percentages.
 
Quick question for you guys. I was told by my PEBLO that the PEB sent my package to the VA on 07MAY2013. She said that she found this out from the PEB status site.
Should she have also received a letter stating that I'm unfit? Or does she not receive this until after the VA give her my proposed ratings?
I know that I haven't been waiting long, but my PEBLO hasn't said anything about the VA taking longer than the IDES timeline states they have ie 15 days. So looking on here I'm getting worried about how long it's going to take, esp given that I'm expecting my first kid in December. Just found out I'm unfit and my wife is pregnant in the last two weeks.

Yes, you should have recieved your unfit memo. Seeing as your stuff was sent to the VA for ratings, you have been found unfit.
 
According to the latest timelines, You can be looking at 2 - 5 months waiting on ratings. An additional few weeks for orders and clearing.

Depending on where your case goes to with the VA (Cleveland is backed up, Providence is not) can make a big impact on what your timeline will be like. I can speak from my experiance, I was found unfit 26feb13 and got my ratings 9may13; That is 2.5 months, currently waiting on orders.

Majority of IDES claims are being sent to Seattle RO

How can I get ahold of my unfit memo? My PEBLO said she checked the status on the IDES site. Thanks
