*current*

So here's a good example of how "great" my unit is, they had the CDR's statement for nearly a month and when they gave it to me it was not filled out completely and all the questions that ask about my performance are marked "not observed" thanks for nothing. Some support eh? So far I'm right on target with the timeline I was given, nice and slow.

Updated some items again. ACAP starts tomorrow, and I am thrilled.

All my medical appointments are complete waiting for the NARSUM.

So the NARSUM basically said it was a mistake to MEB me and I should be found fit and return to duty. To a MOS I can't perform anymore. So I asked the post-retention NCO if I could put in for a reclass after they rejected my earlier MAR2 and she said yes. Funny after all this, I don't believe anything I'm told anymore. The doc put some of my frustrations into the NARSUM which I though was very thoughtful of him, at least someone at the local level understands how screwed up this has been for me. So I appleaded the NARSUM and added my own statement which said that even if I was found "fit" I still can't preform my MOS. They want to MEB me who has a minor medical problem but meanwhile there are soldiers hiding that are really messed up physically and mentally and are slacking and avoiding duty with every excuse they can muster. I hope they just cut me free, I'm pretty sick of the military after all this. There's no justice in it.

second the amen, several doctors, several mis-diagnosis's, 3 useless surgeries causing permanent damage and 1 that may of fixed the root of the problem but will end my career. having to work 3 times harder to maintain the respect of my superiors for seven years while other could F%^& off, but where deployable/could do all regular components of the pt test, I have given up.

I second your feelings of being let down or out and out discarded by the military. Here is my time line. I think that I want to post this just to vent or something. While the ending is not written, I can only move forward and pray that the ending will be worth the journey.

Oct 2009 Returned from deployment. Placed on temp profile for r. shoulder by Great Lakes Navel Station
Oct- Dec 2009 Told my miltary supervisor (AGR) that I needed help as I palnned my death 3 times. Each time was told to "go ahead and kill yourself". Not the Army answer but ...
Nov 2009 State placed me on a "no drill" profile for R. shoulder
Jan 2010 Went to the VA for treatment
Jan 2010 Relesed from my AGR postion
Feb 2010 Dignoised with PTSD and TBI by VA
Mar 2010 "Saw" military doctor from State for about 5 minutes. Placed on another "no drill" profile. "IN LINE OF DUTY" LOD was completed but I didn't see it until July
Apr 2010 Was told 2 days before I was to report that I was assigned to a WTU 300 miles away
Apr 2010 While at the WTU, State issued another temp profile
May 2010 After seeing a couple of doctors, was told that I was going to be REFRADd. Reassigned to a new company (State)before REFRAD
Jun 2010 REFRADd and issued another temp profile without seeing anyone, again
Jul 2010 VA found me to be 90%. State said that I did not meet retention standards, issued a perm profile [411114], and received an LOD.
** Last date I put on the uniform and served with no restrictions was 3 Oct 2009, the day I arrived home from deployment.
Nov 2010 Sent to Ft. Knox for psyc eval. Went to Ireland Hospital to talk to a PEBLO and started my MEB [1 day orders]
Feb 2011 Found out about INCAP from Jason, requested it through my unit. Filled out the paperwork
May 2011 Phase 1 eval [2 days orders]
Jun 2011 Meet my Commander for the first time at begining of month. Was told in an email that I was disapproved for INCAP but was not told why at the end of the month
Jul 2011 Phase 2 eval [1 day orders]
Aug 2011 Ortho appointment issued another perm profile [133221], this one by Ft. Knox. Was told that I have a 1.1cm cyst in my brain and that it was discovered in Apr 2010 at Ft. Knox. [1 day orders]
Sep 2011 Command still would not tell me why I was denied INCAP. Contacted the SOA. Assigned a new PEBLO and an appointment to find out about the cyst. Paperwork lost. Saw VA
Dec 2011 PEBLO sent my paperwork to MEB for a NARSUM. NARSUM should be done within the next several months. Unit contacted me last week and informed me that another INCAP packet was being sent to me. Still do not know why I was disapproved for INCAP in the first place. I have not been allowed to put on my uniform for 1/7th of my military career

Dianoised:
PTSD, TBI, hearing loss, ringing in both ears, brain cyst and pain in back, shoulders, and R. knee

All I have been able to do during this whole thing, thus far, is to:
1) laugh becasue if I didn't I would cry about everything.
2) Read everything that I can in order to explain to my Command what is suppose to happen, by reg.
3) Trust that my God will carry me through
I would be ok if I knew that I was the only one this was happening to but the mere existance of this forum proves that I am not alone and that saddens me greatly. To know that my goverment treats those who gave all they could this way...

I guess what I am trying to say is that regardless of how bad you think it is, there is always someone to your left or right worse off. How bad would you have to be to look around and see no one? You may not see "us" because you are confussed, scard, or in pain but you are not alone.
Try and keep a positive attitude other wise you have lost before you start.

Just got told that PEB has found me unfit. Awesome I'm stoked, on to better things. Don't even care what they give me, just want out of here.

Tomorrow will be my 13th week waiting for the VA to complete my claim and assign me a rating and my 225th day in IDES.

Wow, I'm just 60 days in right now. I hope it doesn't take THAT long. But, I am also being realistic and expecting the worst. I'm waiting on my NARSUM at the moment.

The NARSUM went fast, the longest wait has been for the rating from the VA. They went way over the 120 days the timeline said. I called the VA today and they said my award letter will be going out today so it looks like I'll know my rating soon.

Ok so,...spoke with PEBLO today. my ETS is less than 50 days from now(on 6mnth extension) my command wanted to know if i would need to extend again. She told me that there are over 150 cases pending ratings, and that mine went in for ratings Dec 2nd, but there over 30 days behind working on cases that went in Nov...So I need to see if they will let me extend again. She doesn't expect to hear anything for over two months....So does this mean that when my case does come up, it takes a month to rate and return to MTF? Also PEB received my case Nov 23rd, so what does it mean "went up" on Dec 2nd? Im at Fort Riley case at Fort Lewis.

Who do you call to get this info?

Got my rating yesterday 17 April, 30 measly percent, cheap bastards. Oh well hope I'm out of here soon, I'm supposed to start school in July. Here's the funny part; my referred condition, the thing they found me unfit for was rated at 0%. So at 0%, I'm unfit for military service. Doesn't sound right does it? Meanwhile I have peers and superiors that can not perform any event on the PT test and they are left to hid a ribbit until retirement. This whole thing has been a joke, there's nothing really wrong with me that would prevent me from serving but at this point my cup is full to overflowing. The screwed up AMEDD system and this whole "drawdown" thing is not working as intended. Instead of the dirt bags, the honest guys with a few dents but not the guile or will to survive at all costs are the ones that are really getting cut. The guys that have made a career of hiding from deployment, schools, challenging assignments and orders can avoid the MEB just fine as well. Just my two cents, soon it won't matter but I still care about the Army and want to see it better even after I'm finished. Sadly, I have little home of that.

A month for your rating? I don't think so I waited 113 days after I was found unfit. Sounds like PEB received your case on the 23rd and it "went up" to determine fit or unfit. If that is the case it took them a month to find me unfit. Am I understanding what you are asking?

So...they gave you 30% and you're getting severance pay? Hmmm...I thought that severance was only paid at 10-20%. 30% is a good rating though because you will be medically retired. What did the VA rate you? Do you know that yet?
