Wow, I did't check this thread for a week and missed alot. Congrats to everyone who got their answers. I am still here waiting with no answer or ETA. This is particulary frustrating because I interviewed for a job last week that is my dream job and pays amazingly well. The only problem is that I would have to be there December 8th. There is no way to delay that start date. I am crossing my fingers that I will get an answer back before I have to repond to any job offer (offers are supposed to be out next week). I have seen some Navy timelines who were submitted after mine and got an answer in 2 weeks. Does anyone know why they went so fast?
I'm in the same boat as you. Dream job offer, but it wouldn't start until February the latest. My package has been at the IPEB since September 08, and still nothing has changed. Peblo says I will be fine for sure, but I've seen rumors on this board about the PEB having a backlog of 180days
I'm praying for updates and that it all works out okay.I don't understand why people's timelines are so different. It took months just for me to be found unfit at the PEB but only 4 days for the VA to send back my proposed rating. It is so strange. I haven't signed for my findings yet, but hoping to do that any day now and separate 30 days out.
That's because the VA rates you before it goes to the peb to decide if your unfit , then tell the peb your proposed rating and then they make a determination. So soon as my peb said I was unfit and sent the package back to the va, I got my va ratings almost instantly
I just saw another timeline where the guy was submitted to PEB on Oct 9th, had Unfit on Oct 20th and VA ratings on the 23rd. This was for the Army. I would think they have alot more PEBs to go through than the Navy. Why does ours take so long?
Now I am really hoping for an answer soon. I got a job offer last night for my dream job (not great location though) that will at least double what I make right now. The only problem is that I have to start there on December 8th. I spoke with my COC this morning and they said they will do what they can to get my discharge date to December 31st. But of course we can't do anything until the PEB makes their decision. I have a feeling that if they don't decide in the next 2-3 weeks there will be nothing to do that will make this job a reality.
I am in the same boat. Dream job offer that may be fucked over by the PEB. The sad part is, I followed the original timeline the PEBLO gave me.
i'm not positive but it may depend on your PEBLO at least somewhat i have a civilian that's very proactive on timeline dates and checking received dates he said he's seen a lot of times they will put that they sent the ratings several weeks before he got them and always calls them out on it. i called my peblo every day to check in he got the idea and ever since he's done great on getting everything done ASAP. I am Air Force so it may be different but he said with the holidays coming up i'll probably have to wait until early December. My package was sent off to the IPEB just on Oct 29th though. Its like anything if you dont get frustrated or disrespectful but make it clear how important it is that things are done as efficient as possible it will be positive thing for your PEBLO too, to make sure you get what you want means he wont have you bugging him, he may end up learning to work the system for his people and become more successful in doing so. Most importantly though mine is civilian, i feel very lucky i don't have one of the SrA in that office, nonners have to worry about the next volunteer or college credit opportunity way more than doing well at their actual job.
Congrats martines. I hope the rest of your process goes quickly. I just finished in-processing for my job that starts on the 8th. I have also started my command checkout and sep physical to expedite things once I get my answer. However at this point I am pretty sure there won't be enough time (regardless of how fast I can do things and the help I get) to keep the job.
Are you just waiting on your message or are you waiting for your findings?
Wait, I'm confused. If you're waiting on your message, then neither the VA or PEB matter at that point. I was referring to your message with your seperation date. Its the last thing before terminal. I'm waiting on my TDRL message. Been waiting almost 3 weeks.
I'm not to the message portion yet. I am still waiting on the PEB to decide and send that decision to the VA. Once I get my findings I can get my seperation message very quickly through connections at my command. I have actually already starting checking out by doing everything I can before that message comes.
That's good. My LIMDU Coordinator tried calling a few people for me, but still no luck. I feel like every step for me takes longer than normal. We requested my message be expedited as soon as I signed my findings and I ended up taking longer to get my message than people who got their findings after me.
Well I called my peblo he checked whatever the status system is I was unfit by ipeb Forwarded to VA for ratings on nov 10, same day I got "preparation for decision" on ebenefits Is that the same as the "unfit memo"? Cuz it definitely sounds like it
I never got or saw a memo. When I asked the PEBLO about it, she told me that there was no memo and that it was just a status change when it moved to the VA. True? I have no idea...
