I’m a Captain in the USMC with 19.5 years in. I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia back in 2015. I tried to power through it but I just couldn’t anymore. There are not enough Fibro posts so I thought I’d share mine. If you have any questions PM me. Here is my timeline:

16 Oct 19 MEB initiated
23 Oct 19 Meeting with attorney

From my understanding, an IDES attorney should be assigned to your case to help you along. You can purchase the services of a civilian attorney if you want but you don't have to.
 
Met with the attorney today and selected IDES. Apparently now is when the ball gets rolling
 
Set up meeting with MSC for Nov 22. I thought those were supposed to be right away after IDES started or maybe thats just me. Also got notified that may command got the official request for my NMA on Oct 18 and has 15 calendar days to respond. I'm assuming since I haven't even set up my VA appts that there is some flexibility on the NMA. Either way, sent my XO a copy for his review before getting the CO to sign.
 
Aries1977 glad you are on here. I am currently going thru MEB as well for Fibro and PTSD. I was told by my PEBLO Friday that a full MEB has been directed, so I assume I am done with the IRLO portion and now onto my VA appts sometime soon.
 
Since we are about at the same point in the process it will be nice to compare our timelines as we go along.
 
Got my VA C&P appointments booked today for Dec 9 and 11. I was worried that they would be backed up for the holidays.
 
I'm in the USMC so kinda different for us as we don't have IRILO. I'm not sure if we have an equivalent but on my second LIMDU i was submitted.
 
Hmmm I thought that they would send me to a VA rheumatologist for the fibromyalga C&P. I have done audio/TBI specialist/mental health. The only one i have left is the general next wednesday.
 
So I have finished all but one of my C&P exams. I was looking at tricare online and it showed that the VA had already uploaded most of the exams on there. From 2 DBQ's I can see right now they wrote the following:

1. TBI - Diagnosis TBI ICD Code S06 - Under the memory, attention, concentration, executive functions they wrote:

"[X] Objective evidence on testing of severe impairment of memory, attention,
concentration, or executive functions resulting in severe functional
i m p a i r m e n t"

Everything else was normal but looking at the ratings for TBI does that equate to total for 100%?

2. PTSD C&P - 2 Diagnosis

"a. Mental Disorder Diagnosis #1: Adjustment disorder with mixed anxiety and
depressed mood
ICD code: F43.23"

"Mental Disorder Diagnosis #2: Other specified obsessive compulsive and
related disorder
ICD code: F42"

Looks like the VA doc disagreed with my DoD doc's PTSD diagnosis. They also checked
"[X] Occupational and social impairment due to mild or transient symptoms which decrease work efficiency and ability to perform occupational"
which i think correlates to 10%

I still have to see the general C&P doc on Wednesday. I'm assuming that he will ask me about the fibromyalgia (why I was put on the med board in the first place) but it looks like the TBI itself will be unfitting. Not sure, what do you guys think?
 
They may have enough info for the fibromyalgia to where you won't need a C&P. You need to look at the rest of the PTSD DBQ and see what blocks are checked in criterion section. The VA is not diagnosing you with PTSD, they are acknowledging that you have it. The info about TBI sounds like 100% to me.
 
He marked the following criterion sections, the others were no response provided: Criterion A,B, and I. He had one stressor above.
 
VA exams done. I'm glad to be done with "my" portion of the PEB. Now I just have to wait to review and sign my package.
 
How did you get tricare online? I’m AD Army and finished my last C&P exam 3 weeks ago but haven’t seen anything in the form of results. Only thing I’ve seen happen was the estimated completion time on VA.gov went from Nov 2020 to June 2020 on Wednesday. I’m trying to be patient but still!
