Winston-Salem is where mine is. Have learned some things though along the way and would like to pass that on so any questions feel free to ask THIS SITE IS THE GREATEST.
Now just need to figure out this CRDP chapter 61 thing.

Congrats on that! Hoping you get that envelope soon!! I'll be starting the same thing myself here real soon since I was notified on Friday of my TDRL placement. I just need to make sure something is corrected from an oversight before I accept/concur. Then I get to start the Quick Start process with the VA...yippie!!

That's good news! I've been waiting on my claim since 1 Jan, but I was stupid, waited around, and didn't make the BDD deadline.

The best advice for anyone else out there waiting...find a hobby!

A friend had retired from the AF and started the VA after he was out. His VA claim was completed in 6 months and he had some real issues as well. I'm told by the VA that all of these goes to the same place, I don't know.

6 Dec 2011 - Started VA process
9 Dec 2011 - C&P exam
14 Dec 2011 - VA hearing test
27 Dec 2011 - VA MH exam and should be last appointment unless they decide something else

Finally found out yesterday that the SSDI will start and the payment will be released by the end of this week. From what I can tell, this is a lucky break for me because we don't need to borrow money or file bankruptcy now. Life will be tight but it is a large weight removed. We still don't know any of the figures I should get for Retirement or SSDI but I do have estimates that I came up with and I know we should get more than that. I hope everything works out well for all of you.

I'm shocked! I applied on line and went into the office with the other paperwork with questions. They helped me fill it out and I gave them my Mental Health records and a couple of sheets I had on my back. They told me they would get my records from the base and never did. I first applied the beginning of Nov and was approved the beginning of Dec. I was exspecting a long and drawn out process. I'm sure this is not thr norm since I've never heard or read anybody else having it done so quickly with so little.

When I read my MH records, I felt it should have been 70% but from the way I see myself it should be 50%. The DoD gave me 50% and we will see what the VA says. It worries me that I've noticed a lot more since I no longer work and my wife has cut here hours to be home with me more. I don't know about other people but I do not like having to do this, unfortunatly we do what needs to be done and continue on. I've found myself hanging out at Hardee's talking with the older ladies talking politics and they suggested I take up escorting services. This is the third time this has been suggested so far and I don't think it is going to work either, my wife has guns and knives and I think she can take me.

I forgot, I also gave them a copy of my commanders letter and discharge orders. I felt the commander over stated my issues and I was using this to my benefit. I told them not to contact my supervisor (might be paranoid) because I don't trust any of them. I am also ashamed of applying for SSDI and did not want them to know.

Jeep- How long did it take to get an answer on your SSDI? Did they do your application under the expedited Wounded Warriors side?

Thanks and best of luck!

I first filed on-line. I got some papers in the mail which I didn't understand and went downtown Dayton Ohio to the office, big mistake. I got nothing accomplished at the office and could not get anyone on the phone. My friend told me to go to the Xenia office, much smaller community, and I was given the run around until I stated that I thought military got priority. The entire picture and attitude changed and I spent hour with a counsellor filling out all the paperwork. A couple days later I got more papers in the mail which I filed out and Faxed back. I was awarded SSdi 2 days later and the whole process took approx 30 days. I have been given a hard time about getting the money because they are afraid I will waste it but I got the Family Readiness Finance Counsellor to help me and I was told today I should have the money tuesday, approaching 2 months. They won't tell me how much but what the heck, I can wait.
