I received my Narsum yesterday with the following results:
1. Trochanteric bursitis of the left hip with early arthritis, fails Army retention standards AR 40 501 ch 3 14n
2. Herniated lumbar dis with radiculopathy, degenerative disc disease and chronic pain, fails ch 3 39e.
3. Early arthritis of the right hip, meets standards.
4. Tendonitis of the right wrist, meets standards.
5. Tension headaches, meets standards.
6. Degenerative disc disease of the cervical spine, meets standards.
7. Scoliosis of the thoracic spine, meets standards.
ROMs are:
Right wrist-40, 40, 20, 45. Pain is 40, 40, blank, 45
Thoracolumbar spine-30, 30, 30, 30, 30, 30. Pain is 30, blank for the rest
All other ROMs were full range. However, with that my left hip only acheived that result as the QTC physician used all his weight to manipulate the joint.
My question is should I get an independant medical review and then try to appeal the findings. I find it strange that the DDD in the cervical spine met standards. As well as my right wrist.
I am active duty Army, E-5 with 5 years.
Any advice would be helpful.
