So now, in another thread, I had asked if anyone would be willing to comment or guess as to whether you all feel I'll be FIT or UNFIT. I'd still love to hear anyone's input:

Also, according to the eBenefits, my case is at Step 6--Compensation: Pending Decision Approval

What does this mean in regards to timeline? My case was just forwarded last Tuesday to the PEB. Now, I know there are "2 trains" running right now, PEB and VA, but anyone here willing to garner a guess as to my timeline, or the fact that my case is already here in step 6, does this lead anyone to believe one way or another regarding the expected decision? Or how much longer I'll be in Step 6, Pending Decision Approval? To me, it appears that the powers that be have decided what, if any, my compensation rate will be if found UNFIT, and they are just awaiting the PEB results. Am I too far off?

Thanks in advance, all!

I noticed that some people see a change in their status on eBenefits sooner than others. Personally, my status did not change from Gathering of Evidence until after I was found unfit by the PEB and the VA received my case. It the changed to Pending Decision Approval, but changed the very next day back to Gathering of Evidence. I found out today that the day it changed to Pending Decision Approval, the VA had completed my rating and sent my package off to my PEBLO. Now, I am just waiting for the call to sign my findings. Your case might be different but you could call this number and speak to a nice Lt. Commander that might give you an update. He would tell me the exact department my package was in.
202 685 6422 He can let you know if they have made a decision on your case yet.

I wish the Lt. Commander would have told me something! Looks like everybody has different exp. with him

Thanks--I'll call today to see!

Let me know if he is any help.
He was, but he wasn't thrilled that I was calling him and not my PEBLOs, which is fair...I just hadn't heard much from them, is all. They do have my case, just mentioned that they are backed up a couple of weeks, so not to expect anything soon, is all.

Yea. The PEB has my case again too and I heard the same spill. Hopefully, you hear something soon. My case took about 4 months before the PEB found me unfit.

Wow! That's a long time. Another person in this very command who went through the same MEBLO/PEBLO had the case decided 3 weeks following the date the board started actually looking at the case, not after it was sent (that would've been about 6 weeks after it was forwarded, so it took 3 weeks to even get the case looked at. Well, same with me...kind of. My case was mailed out on 13 Oct, and just called my PEBLO, who stated that 2 Nov, my case started being reviewed by the board, so if I'm found fit, I'm hoping to hear word back by 1 December timeframe. If I don't hear back by then, I'll call back and see if the PEBLO can give any more info.

It would be nice if PEBLOs would inform the member that they are UNFIT as soon as the board determines this, THEN inform the member that the VA will take 6-8 weeks, or more, to finalize it, but at least then, the member knows. If I don't hear back by 1 Dec-ish, and I call and they say it's still pending, I'll probably take that to mean that I am UNFIT.

Does that seem about right?

Well, the VA only had my case for 5 days and sent my proposed rating back to the PEB. They mailed my findings to me too. I heard the same thing about the PEB concerning the timeframe. I was told if it took a long time to hear back that you'd be found unfit. But most are found unfit anyway. You would have to be getting better and be able to prove that to be found fit in most cases.
