Navy Timeline - Millington, TN

No new update as of today in regard to receiving findings, but I do have a question.
My PEBLO won't even tell me my fit or unfit status that your PEBLOs have told you. Every time I ask, she says, "once we get the official notice then I will tell you." Is this normal? I have been calling my PEBLO twice weekly per her direction for status updates, but each call gives little to no information.

Just to recap:
MEB phase: March 2023 to November 2023
PEB Accepted: 04 Dec 2023
VA case closed: 14 Dec 2023
PEB received VA case: 14 Dec 2023
QA Post-VA: 22 January 2024

IPEB Time: 80 Days
QA Time: 31 Days

Spoke to the board February 7th and was told 2 weeks, 3 at most. No update since.
I could be wrong but I am assuming since you have ratings and are in the QA phase you are deemed unfit. I have been in QA post VA since January 17th so our timeliness are close.

My VA case closed on 19Dec and I just got my findings yesterday. From talking to the PEB I learned that they have to call and request your file from the VA and sometimes it takes them a while to do so. I called back on the 9th and they told me 3-4 more weeks so I would think before the end of next week you’d hear something
When did your case go to QA?

Literally just called the board 5 minutes ago and was told 3.5 to 4 more weeks. I was told a little over 2 weeks ago I had 2 weeks, 3 at most?!

I will say that call lasted 10 seconds so not much information was given, or digging was done. Also, the phones were ringing the entire time I was on the phone with him, so he was just rushing through the call. This is the same timeline they give a lot of people who call from what I have been seeing in this forum. Should be any day now that I receive findings comparing to others with similar timelines. Just was hoping for a true status update by calling.

I'm hoping they are just saying bs. From what I've seen, pretty much everyone who calls on the same day gets similar answers and they would rather say wait 4 weeks than say you should have your results in a couple days because then if you don't then they know you'll blow up the phone calling everyday. But when my Peblo saw my case enter QA on January 17th she said not to expect findings for 3-4 months and not to expect anything until April or May and to expect to EAS around June or July, so I have no idea.

Yeah, I do not hound them by calling all the time by any means. I just call after the periods they give me to get an honest update since my PEBLO cannot see anything more than QA Post-VA status. This was my third call to the board in the past 82 days. Your PEBLO gave you a lengthy timeline. My PEBLO said it takes on average 3 weeks to receive findings once in QA phase but that it can take up to 6-7 weeks for some. At this point it is hard to take the information we get told to be true.

I have called them 3. February 7th I was told 2 weeks, 3 max and to call if I don't hear in 3 because something is wrong. Called a week later on the 14th and was told 3 weeks, called on Tuesday the 20th and was told 200 cases ahead of mine and 4 more weeks which would be 60 days post QA. I have been in QA for 36 days which 5 going on 6 weeks. But according to other members timeline I should be right in the wheelhouse of findings.

I agree that you are right there and should receive findings any day. How did you get them to tell you how many cases were ahead of you? I have seen that a lot in various threads, but I have never been told that piece of information. The dude I spoke with today just hung the phone up on me once he told me the 3–4-week bs.

It just depends on who answers I think. I just called and asked where my case was in the process so he told me that, but the same day he also told someone else behind me in the process that only 150 cased was ahead of them so I don't think it is reliable information. They just tell you something to make you feel better.

Jesus Christ. These updates make me shake my head
You think things that benefit our Sailors are going to happen in appropriate time? HA! If this was doing cleaning stations on the farthest fan room you can find because "the Admiral is visiting the ship", it would be done immediately and those responsible would work 24/7 until it was done.

Yeah, because I plan on calling them again after the weekend and it looks like they're going to tell me another "couple weeks".

Same, it is hard to keep any type of hope. Feels like the phone call just isn't going to come.
If you get the chance just full send on your checkout process now. That helped keep me sane while I was waiting. The more appointments with advisors to keep you away from just sitting at work the better.

I am going to start this process more in-depth this week to be able to get out of the office. I saw somewhere on a Facebook page where the Navy is allowing Sailors going through the PEB process to start all the paperwork and steps necessary to expedite their separation once the findings do come in. By allowing this, the Navy is hoping to achieve better adherence to the goal timeline.

They won't let me get my check out sheet without a new EAS, and my shop is already upset about physical therapy twice a week so they wouldn't let me leave more to talk to advisors, there also isn't a lot of people on this base, all the representatives I have used for my case are off base. Then I have my Gunny who wants updates every day and everyone always asking when I am leaving because we thought I would already be gone, so it is just a slow painful process now.

I completely know how you feel. My command keeps asking for updates and they thought that I would be gone by now. What the board needs to realize is that the waiting game only hurts those going through the process further. Especially those with mental health conditions. It is so hard to plan, apply for jobs, house hunt, and just live in the unknown. There is no reason why this process should take this long. I am about to hit my one-year mark from the time my MEB was initiated too now.

If you want to fight that battle scheduled appointments are scheduled appointments. Virtual, in person or whatever. Your shop can bitch and moan but it would be your appointed place of duty. Any flak on that is definitely an issue you should push up to higher. Sucks that you're dealing with leadership that isn't being supportive though, I understand the pain.

I am about to hit the one-year mark as well and as of today I am 40 days into QA. It feels like I am stuck running in place with the finish line right in front of me. My military career is over, that's a given. I won't promote, and I am getting out, there is nothing for me here anymore, but I can't enroll in college or set up the next part of my life if I have no timeline to work off of. The waiting sucks and is draining because all of us are just ready to transition but it would at least be better with reliable updates and timelines and a way to track things so we can transition properly. It is almost setting all of us up for failure with the possibility that you may get findings at any random point and be gone a month later with barely any time to set yourself up. Yet the military treats us like we are low priority and don't matter.
