Need advice before PT changes go into effect

Okay, long story short I have been in almost 12 years which is probably longer than I should have been. I was diagnosed with tachycardia and exercise induced asthma. There’s other things I’ve documented but these are the driving issues that prevent me from running the PT test. Years ago I was put on a permanent profile and I do pass the walk test, but not without prep. I bust my ass and I am able to pass within several weeks of practice.

My DOS is early next year and I have been very hesitant to reenlist based on the new PT guidance. There seems to be no other options but to run and I do not want to fail any tests. I currently get RILO’d every year and I’m wondering should I talk to the Commander or my PCM about doing the full MEB process so I at least leave with something. They do return me to duty every year based on my job, but it’s different this time with the new standards.

What’s the move here? MEBs will take months and I am unable to extend on this reenlistment. I’m concerned since they return me to duty every year that they will still deem me fit to take the test when that’s not the case.

Do I discuss my options now or wait until March for the new PT guidance? It’s likely there are no options for walking though. Lots of retirements coming next year.
