I am getting boarded from the Air Force because of vertigo but, when I read the information about Meniere's, I dont know what to think. All of my documentation has been for chronic vertigo and for 3 years its been documented 26 times for vertigo stating that I have vertigo 3-4 times a week with migraines afterwards. I have ringing in my ears but, its never been documented because I didnt know that it was a condition. I am pretty sure that I have hearing loss too. I just dont want to get low balled by DOD/VA ratings and my VA appointments are in a month so any help would be greatly appreciated. I didnt want to get out of th military since I have been in 11 years but, I got overseas and was told by the doctors when I got here that I should have been med boarded. Now I am on my way out and want it to be over and done with so I can start my life as a Mr. Thanks.

Sounds like you got a pretty good handle on this. Have you inquired with your ENT to put down in your medical records that you have Menieres? Do you get tinitus or ringing in your ears?

You can always seek a second opinion outside of the MTF. I would request that and get their thoughts on your condition. The minimum rating is 30%, I believe and can go as high as 100%. Is there anything in your job that could have caused i.e. being exposed to loud noises for extended amounts of time.

As always, take care and good luck

Welcome to the PEB Forum! :)

In my opinion, it's in your best interest to thoroughly review and comprehend the Veterans Affairs Schedule for Rating Disabilities (VASRD) as annotated in the below URL:

http://www.ecfr.gov/cgi-bin/text-idx?c=ecfr&rgn=div5&view=text&node=38:1.0.1.1.5

Nonetheless, never default acceptance to potential injustice while championing for well-earned and well-deserve military disability compensation to include future military healthcare benefits after separation/retirement! ;)

Thus, I quite often comment that "possessing well-informed knowledge is truly a powerful equalizer."

Best Wishes!
