I'm putting in my request for PLD, I already have the letter from 1850.4E enclosure 6, and I'm requesting it to reach 20 years. I'm over 18 years but I was rated 30% by the Navy and 80% by the VA. I would really like to make it to my 20 year point, so I'm getting my package together. The CO is endorsing the request, but since I don't have an example to give him, The letter is somewhat sterile sounding. It states the jobs I do, and them being critical duties and he supports me reaching 20 years, but I'm wondering does it need to have performance points? What I mean is does it need to look like a fitrep write up? My NMA was written that way. If anyone has sucessfully requested PLD and has an example of what the CO endorcement letter looked like, I would be very thankful.
