Just joined this site, but ive been keeping an eye on the threads since February. Figured I'd post a very rough timeline since I havent been seeing too many USMC cases lately.

*Background - Active duty Sgt with 7 years of service. In PEB process for ortho issues (broken ankle, with permanent plate and 8 screws).

Injured February 6, 2011. Surgery on February 23 (Thanks for the long wait for surgery approval TriCare)

1st limited duty - 3 june, 2011. Did 6 months physical therapy throughout the limdu period.

2nd limited duty - 3 December, 2011.

VA C&P exams/DTAP class - 28 Feb, 2012

Package sent to peb 15 March, 2012

PEB receives package 19 March, 2012

PEB file received by VA 3 April, 2012

I received my ratings via mail on May 7, 2012. (Never any word on fit or unfit though... and the PEBLO is useless as IVE been the one tracking my case... not her)

*In my package from the VA, it specifically lists under "Evidence", that the findings of the PEB were received 3 April. Now I guess it's just a sit and wait game. About a week ago i called the PEB and they STILL had not received anything from the VA, even though ive had them in my hands for a month now.

This is a stupid question I know... but is it a valid assumption that I was found unfit? Everything Ive seen leads towards that but nobody VA or DOD "can tell me".

You must have been found unfit if it went to the VA and you received a rating. If you were found fit for duty, your case would have immediately gone back down to you PEBLO. Not sure why your PEBLO hasn't assisted you more. You should know whether you are being retired or due a severance based off the VA rating for your unfit conditions that you received from the VA.

***Update***

Findings received September 5th. Unfit/10% with severance. Not fighting it, nor am I requesting higher ratings because honestly... I just want this over. Hope everybody else gets theirs soon!

On a side note, the PEBLO told me I would be separated within 45-60 days. My chain of command is letting me take leave for the rest of September while we wait for the official separation date, and then I roll into paternity leave in the beginning of October (when my daughter is due), and straight into terminal if everything works out. Now that I've signed my findings, they are all for letting me spend my last 2 months away from the unit so I can transition... which is awesome.
