November Air force IPEB Packages

It saddens me a bit to see that there are still people on here from October who have not gotten results as of yet. Fgtrplt03, do you have a specific date when your package was received?

My case was recieved 30 Nov and they told me the beginning of April I should hear something. I hope they're right.

I finally spoke to my PEBLO. He said mine may be taking longer because it is complicated due to the fact that he sent additional information to Randolph (My 2nd surgery didn't fix the problem and I needed a 3rd on that shoulder (December 2009) and I also needed surgery on my left shoulder (March 2010)). He also said they are taking combat related injuries first.
Also, my package was sent to Randolph on 30 October, but I wonder if it sat for a few weeks like LittleHippies did.

I have been checking these forums for updates for months now without registering. Well I just got my results back yesterday for my MEB (malignant melanoma stage 1) results were 10% with severance. My package was submitted to texas on NOV 4th. I just wanted to register for the website to tell you guys this so you know there is light at the end of the tunnel. I am just waiting on my orders now and then Im gonna put in for terminal leave!!! Good luck everybody!

Don't be surprised when they deny your terminal leave... supposedly somewhere in the reg, states, if you are severance, you can't take terminal. Worst case, you sell it back... I've yet to actually read this anywhere, but everyone and thier brother sure likes to inform me of it...

7833 Malignant melanoma:
Rate as scars (DC’s 7801, 7802, 7803, 7804, or 7805), disfigurement of the head, face,
or neck (DC 7800), or impairment of function (under the appropriate body system).

Note: If a skin malignancy requires therapy that is comparable to that used for
systemic malignancies, i.e., systemic chemotherapy, X-ray therapy more
extensive than to the skin, or surgery more extensive than wide local excision,
a 100-percent evaluation will be assigned from the date of onset of treatment,
and will continue, with a mandatory VA examination six months following
the completion of such antineoplastic treatment, and any change in evaluation
based upon that or any subsequent examination will be subject to the
provisions of §3.105(e). If there has been no local recurrence or metastasis,
evaluation will then be made on residuals. If treatment is confined to the
skin, the provisions for a 100-percent evaluation do not apply.

Did you have any of the systemic treatment listed above (chemo, etc.,)? You agree with the findings?

Just a wide surface excision. And yes i agreed with findings. I am more than ready to get out after 6 yrs on the flight line at a fighter base

Good morning,
A few months ago I asked my PEBLO if I could get a copy of my records so I could file a VA claim and he told me I'd have to wait until Randolph makes their decision and sends the records back. Is that correct? If not, is there a number at Randolph I can call to request a copy of my records?

I am currently on TDRL status, had a 18 month reevaluation exam (AF) back in October and recently found out that I may have to have some six month exam before i can get a decision. Has this happened to anyone else? Do the IPEB folks have the ability to see a pending VA C and P exam and hold the adjudication of the tdrl case? I was not in the pilot program. I just had the VA C and P about a month ago and am awaiting those results. Thanks very much for advice. hindershot

I haven't heard of that my PEBLO actually made me a copy of my medical records. I didn't even have to ask. I guess this was done in case my records were lost on their way to AFPC

118 days later and still have not heard anything. Can't get a hold of my PEBLO to find out what's going on. Oh well maybe I can make it to 160 days.

Is anyone else feel a sense of institutionalization? I’m on pins and needles waiting for a decision but am also dreading it at the same time. This game of waiting has become all too familiar.

You do not need a PEBLO to get a copy of your medical records...ever. (Regardless of if you're in an MEB or not). Simply go to your nearest MTF and request your outpatient records (AHLTA). Some offices will make you fill out a paper request and wait, Mine I just waited while they printed out reams of paper. At my MTF (i.e. Military Hospital) the office I needed to go to was release of information. Keep in mind most of the time you need to go to different offices for Inpatient records, ER visits, and X-rays/MRIs/CAT scans, etc.

FWIW, I "update" my copy of my medical records every month or so. Just don't want to take a chance something gets lost or a massive crash deletes everything someday. A CD is kept in a safe deposit box. :)

Hello four month mark....
I spoke with my chief yesterday and the word he's getting from his "source" is it's going to take another 3-4 weeks. Apparently AFPC is taking the wounded warriors ahead of us...But my first line boss is about to become a pain in my PEBLO's rear with getting a status on my case....
