I feel obligated to post my timeline here, especially to warn other Offutt members lurking - or anyone else in a similar situation - to stay on top of your PEBLO. I have been stuck in IRILO purgatory for 126 days now (and counting). I have never been contacted by my PEBLO without me reaching out first, except for 1 time. I had to inquire from my PCM who the PEBLO was when I heard no updates for 60 days since given Code 37 was given and then the PCM (not my referring condition provider) tracked that down and told them to contact me. I have been emailing every few weeks asking for updates and conveniently the day that I email them (every single time) they were "just working on that right now!" And that is how it has been going since getting Code 37 on 2 January 2026...
I believe my case is FINALLY with AFPC as of yesterday. Now the ~6 week wait begins. I was supposed to be separating this August, but since the IRILO portion has taken *so* long, that will likely not happen. I will extend my DOS to finish this process, because I want the IDES and I know that a probable medical retirement will be worth it. But dang, if this hasn't made my mental health so much worse (my referred condition). Additionally, I was never provided the NARSUM to review. I'm not sure if this is normal for the IRILO? I have *no* idea what is on it or how thorough it is. I am seen off base for mental health, so the referring military provider doesn't know me at all, and I only check in with her every quarter for about 15 minutes.
THEN, during one of my reach outs to the PEBLO for an update, they said that they were waiting on an updated CIS from my commander. My shirt said he didn't know about one. Then, the PEBLO says they sent the request to the WRONG PERSON with the same name as my Commander a week ago (and only noticed because I was asking). Then they immediately sent the request to the correct name, and he responded within 3 minutes of receipt.
FINALLY, yesterday the PEBLO says (after another reach out from me requesting the status) that AFPC *just* kicked back the CIS for some corrections and she was calling my Shirt. Turns out he missed a few boxes the first time around and the PEBLO never noticed it. It was sent back to the PEBLO 14 January with my signature, and it took AFPC getting it yesterday, 6 May, to kick it back. So now it's been corrected and re-sent to AFPC. A few months ago, the PEBLO told me that I would get an email when the package was submitted to AFPC, but I haven't gotten anything. I have so little faith in the process here and that I will get the MEB and due process I deserve. I emailed the ODC this morning with details and email traffic, hoping that maybe they can put pressure on *someone* to get things moving forward.
I could understand if it was a complicated case that kept changing or had a lot of moving parts, but mine isn't. It should have been very straight forward. The fact that it just made it to AFPC on day 125 is ludicrous to me. I met with our MSC already, because I wanted to get a BDD submitted and found out at that meeting that they can't submit it until we get the decision for a full MEB. If they come back and say "return to duty" I will have lost my opportunity to do my BDD prior to separation. If I do the full MEB, then great, we already got a head start on preparing my claims...but I just have no faith left at all. Below is the full timeline with dates. I will update if/when things actually happen. Has anyone else dealt with anything similar? Is this "normal" and I'm just impatient? Based on a lot of the other timelines I've seen here I could be close to having orders by now had any attention been given to my case.
Offutt Timeline:
*IRILO*
Dec 25 – notified by provider she would be directing an AMRO
2 Jan 26 – Code 37 applied (Day 1)
14 Jan 26 – CIS signed by me and returned for routing to PEBLO; "do not retain" (Day 13)
5 Feb 26 – off base provider sent records to MTF at my request (Day 35)
4 Mar 26 – I request information about my PEBLO/IRILO from my PCM, as I have not heard anything from anyone regarding my IRILO (Day 62)
4 Mar 26 – PEBLO emails and states they are waiting on off-base records to be "scanned in" but does not tell me which records they are missing.
23 Mar 26 – my next reach-out (Day 81)
3 April 26 - “ “ (Day 92)
3 April 26 - referring provider reaches out to tell me she's still waiting on records from my off-base provider, and they must have "gotten lost" when they were sent 5 Feb.
8 April 26 - off base provider re-sends records immediately following my appointment that day. (Day 97)
9 April 26 – referring provider reaches out for some information for my NARSUM, says it will be sent up by the end of the week and should get through MDG leadership by the end of April. Recommending "separation". (Day 98)
14 April 26 – PEBLO says they are still waiting on an updated CIS; says leadership was aware as of 9 April. (The only time the PEBLO has reached out without my asking for an update) (Day 103)
20 April 26 – I just now see the 14 Apr email, because of an exercise the previous week. I called my shirt and he hadn't seen anything. I inform the PEBLO. PEBLO responds that it was sent to the wrong person and then immediately emailed my actual Commander asking for any updates to the CIS. He responds 3 minutes later with “no changes”. (Day 109)
5 May 26 – I reach out again (Day 124)
6 May 26 – PEBLO says my case just got kicked back from AFPC and contacts my shirt. He immediately calls me to get required info and passes that to her. PEBLO says it is now sent back to AFPC with corrections to the CIS. (Day 125)
7 May 26 - I emailed the ODC with details of the situation and the above timeline and request legal help to get things moving forward. CC Shirt and supervisor (Group Chief). (Day 126)
