Payment timeline?

Anybody know if you are medically retired what date they use to start paying you out at that rate?

My last day on AD was in late Apr. My final Apr paycheck was about a 10 days late. Thereafter I was paid my monthly retirement checks on time.

So essentially 10 days after final orders it sounds like?
Hello @Gunder2 ,

@chaplaincharlie mentioned, "My last day on AD was in late Apr. My final Apr paycheck was about a 10 days late."

Irrespective of the date of publication of the retirement orders, an example might be:
Last day of active duty: 25 April
First day in retired status: 26 April
Final April paycheck received: ~5 May
Payment for 1-31 May: 1 June

Does this scenario seem to hold true for most? I'll be getting my 199 here in the next month. VA rating was 90%, and I' m expecting no less than 60% DoD, Just figuring out worst case scenarios for cashflow starting out. Would there be any reason that I might not get my DoD retirement paycheck within a month or two (I'm planning on 3)? I'm Title 32 and expect to qualify for that disability retirement as well, but I understand it can be 4-5 months waiting on that end. Not worried about that side of things.

Far as I know there isn’t any lapse in payment because of the DoD rating. You get your DoD retirement paycheck the very next month, and then when the VA catches up they take over and back pay (only if the 90%VA equates to a higher dollar amount than your 60% DoD retirement pay).

Got my 199. I'm 60 percent DoD, 90 percent VA. As a reservist, I still don't know if I understand how the CDRP would work. I don't have a combat code (I'm a nurse, so I saw a lot, but was never in direct combat), so I don't think I can get concurrent receipt until I resch 60. I have my 20 year reserve letter. Since there's a 30 percent difference between my DoD and VA ratings, will I see any of that now, or fo I wait until I'm 60 as well?

I meet with my legal liason to go over my 199 on Monday. Hoping he can clear it up.

Thanks for any insight
