PDRL question

Does anyone happen to know if with pdrl you will be considered permanent and total to the VA? My proposed rating was 100% but I haven’t been told if it was permanent or total yet. I also signed my findings and will be getting a PDRL. Thank you for any help.

Log onto VA.gov, click on letters, and then when it opens up, click on benefit summary and service verification letter. After that it will create a letter, look for the section that says you’re considered p and t, it will say yes or no. Hope this helps

You can be PDRL and not be permanent with the VA. I took the PDRL and filed a VA appeal. It took about 7 months for the VA to award P&T.

Thank you. Yeah I was just curious. I just signed my findings, and it says 100% VA but I won’t know if it’s P&T until I’m out unfortunately.

I might add some contentions require a re-eval, but I appealed on the basis that the initial eval was more than 6 mont passed the initial diagnosis and I was over 55, which is a significant age for the VA.

DOD status (separate w/severance, TDRL, PDRL) does not relate directly to VA status of P&T or not. Two separate organizations.
