PEB VA Ratings Navy Pensacola

Good afternoon all! Coming to ask some questions to get a feel of where I’m at in the process:

I started my IDES journey in February, my package went to the PEB 11/19/24 and I cannot seem to get answers from my PEBLO or the VA as to where my package is. I have a very hard time establishing contact with my MSC due to office and work from home hours and bad numbers.

Basically, my peblo gave me a status update on 16DEC24. It was copy paste formatting looking like it came from some type of software:

PEB location: VA- Disability Rating Officer.

Location Duration: 17.00

I asked if this meant I had a fit/unfit determination but he said he did not.

I have called the VA 1000 number numerous times and the most information I have gotten is that they may be waiting on something from the PEB but are uncertain because they cannot see into the IDES process, but there are not any proposed ratings. The 1000 number also seemed to think that it was never sent over from the PEB which may contradict the info my PEBLO gave me.

I would assume (which may not be a good thing) that if my case is at the VA that I am unfit, and it would not have sat at the IPEB for this long.

Anyone else have similar experiences? Is there anyone I can contact?

Thank you!

I am also in Pensacola, sounds like we have different PEBLO's though. The VA will receive your case at the same time it goes to the PEB. They both work on it at the same time. You will get the standard "Your case is in the decision phase, if you have any further questions contact your PEBLO or MSC" answer for the most part. Every now and then you might get lucky and have someone tell you a little more. As for the timing to get your fit/unfit it seems pretty random. Mine took only a few days, but others have taken a long time. With the holidays everything has slowed down as well. My unfit came back in October, and still waiting for the VA to finish proposed ratings. I am not sure who to contact if your PEBLO and MSC are not responding. Both of mine here have been very responsive. Maybe someone here can give you pointers on that one.

I've seen people with lower responsiveness representatives garner success using the Wounded Warrior Project VSOs to get information for them. All you have to do is "request information" and they sign you up with a VSO who has access to the same system that the MSC/PEBLO have access to.

Where do you go to do that?

My PEBLO has been great, I just think things have been non transparent through this process, the whole system could be better.

I’ll try wounded warrior and see if they give me more than a simple answer. Thanks for that info!

This is the way. I have gotten lucky once or twice with the 1000 line and my MSC got mad at me for requesting 1 update from her and said I shouldn't be calling the 1000 line but to get info from them seeing as how I like to call it so much. (It was every other Friday)

My WW rep started texting me out of the blue with updates on my case and has been a godsend to get me through the anxious waiting.

Interesting update-

Turns out a DVQ was missing from my file, I had to call VES and have the doctor sign it from months ago. It was sent to the VA last Friday.

Currently, my package went to the PEB and is now with the VA. Is this brand new DBQ gonna screw up my package? I’d assume it will delay me a few months unless the VA has been working on everything else and is just waiting for the last upload.

Anyone have this happen before?

I am new to the process as well, how did you find out your unfit determination?

Hey ya'll, got a call from VA rep today saying ratings were finalized just had a couple questions. He told me VA was 100% and my Referred condition was 60%. Then later today the case closed on the VA app. I think it's about another month now till I receive official ratings from PEB? Getting closer!

Through my research it seems that once VA rates it people get a call to meet with their PEBLO in a week or so, idk about you but whiting has been closed almost all week for the weather so it could delay it.

I’ve seen a month or longer for findings to come in for a signature. Where are you seeing a week?

I don’t have specifics, the amount of posts I’ve poured through would be hard for me to go through and give you citations.

However, I have a friend who is about a month ahead of me and he met with his peblo here in Pensacola about a week after the VA closed.

If you’re seeing different it makes sense- seems like it’s different for everyone.

Took me a month for the Navy PEB.

Haha, no problem.

I’m all for the best available information, it only helps us all!

Received my findings today from my PEBLO. 60%/100% P&T. She told me the PEB pushed out a ton of findings today so hopefully yall see yours too!!

Congrats! I called the VA and they said mine is currently on ‘step 5’.

No clue where this puts me with everything, but I’m happy to see there’s a lot of movement.
