Pending Review and Closed

I really wish the personnel at the VA were more informed on this process. I was told on the 9th that my rating was closed and being sent to the PEB now its back in pending decision. Does this mean I'm pending the PEBs final decision now? No one I talked to at the VA knew enough to even know what I was talking about. I have a proposed rating uploaded on VA.gov but can't access it.

You signed for your proposed rating? It won’t show and a decision letter won’t be available until it’s finalized and that happens when you’re no longer in. Hope this helps.

In the PEB process there are two VA claims for those found unfit. Is this the first claim or the second claim?

They won’t finalize it till you’re discharged and you send them your dd-214

How do we know if it’s the first or second claim? If it’s been “pending final review” for a few weeks will it just stall there until PEB is done with it or will close and re-open?

E benefits can show you open and closed file.

Hmm… so the VA Hotline said my case has been “pending final review” since July 27th, but the VA Website and E-Benefits show no cases at all. When asking my PEBLO, he basically says he knows nothing other than he submitted my package to the PEB >2 months ago.

Will it remain “pending final review” indefinitely until you get info from the PEB or should it close and then reopen?
The status online changed several times for me. It showed closed for a brief period then changed back to pending until I submitted my dd214 and they finalized the ratings. When it changed the first time I called and they emailed me my proposed ratings. They sent them to me on the first try, it’s not uncommon for them to say that hey can’t send them you just have to try again till you find someone who will.
