PERS DIRECTED PEB

Let me start from the beginning. I was up for orders and did an overseas screening. My NTC approved my screening and sent it over to a ship for approval. Ship said that because I had chiropractic and pain management that I was not fit. my command sent a letter to pers to have the ruling overruled. PERS sent me straight to PEB. I have never been on limu and all of my PFA have been excellent. Because I had a case open for over 12 months per says that counts as time served I do not want to get out I will be 16 years in July. How do I fight this? I am only interested in how to fight this. I am not interested in medical separation benefits.

I am going through the exact same thing. It’s been an absolute shit show for me. I’ve been in 10yrs. I was found fit for retention and reenlisted for another six, the same month I was rejected by the Lincoln.
I have never been on LIMDU, never failed a PFA. If you look at my previous posts everything is there.
The Lincoln rejected me last August, I’ve been doing this for almost a year.
I wanted to fight it at first, and tried to tooth and nail but was told by everyone, all the way up to legal that I couldn’t.
I’ve lost all desire to stay in.
My findings came back and I was found fit, but I am contesting to be found unfit.
My LCDR basically told me that once one sea command rejects you it’s pretty hard to get any sea orders. I’ve also connected with a few other sailors during this process who were found fit, went up for orders, was rejected and then started this entire process over again. Except, if it happens again, you are guaranteed to be medically separated/retired.

Hello, I was rejected by the same ship. I am very new in the process and when I went to the med board at Balboa, they told me that my name wasn’t even in the system yet. Well it’s good that you were found fit because that is what I am looking for. I spoke to a civilian lawyer, and I guess some higher-ups are saying that they’re tired of people being found unfit and if they’re not fit to deploy for the fleet, then what’s the point. So they are kicking people out due to that reasoning however they have a big backlog and some of this stuff is more of an automation.

See, unfortunately for me, I’m still not world wide deployable. In fact, my command had me get a jump start on my separation package checklist and I was at readiness the day I got my fit findings, the doctor there straight up told me that since I still have the boardable condition she was going to still find me unsuitable for sea duty.
Everything has been so contradictory this entire time.
Good luck though! I hope everything works out for you.

I guess I don’t really understand a difference. Why would you be able to go to a ship but not overseas on shore?

I can’t since I failed the suitability screening, I’m not eligible for overseas orders and I’m not world wide deployable. I tried to see if I could do that. My last shore duty station was in Bahrain, I’d go back in a heartbeat. The detailer said I wasn’t eligible.
