I appreciate the words of support and defense. To clarify, JWilliams and I spoke after he posted and though he issued an apology in his post prior to our conversation, there really was not anything that I took offense about. I don't want to put words in his mouth, so if I get this wrong, I hope he corrects my error(s). More or less, he posted about the frustration and difficulty with getting the PDBR to correctly adjudicate cases. As I recall, he mentioned that I was busy in a post that he later edited. I think his concern was not wanting to comment on what my schedule is like and inadvertently making people think they could not call on me for assistance.

With that as a background, I would say that we are all here to share information and support members who are in some way affected by the the military disability evaluation system. I stay fairly hands off on what people post as I think there is value in having others' ideas, input and experiences to give a picture on what is going on in this system. But, I would urge everyone to be civil and respectful. When you get to the bottom of things, we all very likely have more to agree about than our minor disagreements.

Again, I appreciate everyones kind words and support. Let's now move on and keep this thread on the topic of the PDBR. If anyone wants to say something else outside of the topic, please post a new thread in an appropriate forum.

hey guys, and fellow veterans, remember we are here to help each other, and not to nippick on each other, we all have the same gold to get a retirement from the dod-pdbr,and the MOST important part of been able to communicate on this site is that we are ONE, and have the SAME problems, which is we all got SCREW by our former service medical board, so how about we stick together and just let the bastards at the pdbr know that we have them in our sights and we are watching their every move

ALL,

I monitor another forum at yuku.com (concerning the PDBR) and on that forum a vet with the screen name KADDATZ17 posted the following:

" KADDATZ17 : I just want to say that this is Legit...Thank God he was watching over me...it also reads
He was not discharged on Date XXXXXX with entitlement to disability severance pay; rather . on that date his name was placed on the Permanent Disability Retired List.

I have already been to the base and elected the Survivor Benefit Plan as well. If you are truly one of those who have been pushed through the system as a number like I have do this and do it quick. If you are not service connected by the VA with a high rating then it may not be worth the efforts but then again I was shocked to see I was retired!!"

You can find the forum and post at the following link,

I see that LTC Parker and Jason are on that forum also, is this a legit post? Did someone finally get approved?

The PDBR in Crystal City, VA has had my docket for months, I am no 144 and I haven't heard a peep. It is starting to get frustrating. I think writing my congressman would be a waste of time, same for my 2 senators. I am just pure frustrated by this whole thing.

I have #32 and the VA still hasn't send my records to the board yet. According to the PDBR, they have been requesting them from the VA for 5 months now. I just don't know what to think!

Hey Everyone,

I just wanted to say to close up this string of threads about Jason and I, Jason put it perfectly. Thank you sir.

Lets refocus back to where we were, trying to figure out how to fire at the PDBR and DES so we can make the most effective case and beat them so this all doesnt happen to the 77 other thousand vets out there looking at the same deal.

Jon "Big Will" Williams

My fellow Vets,
I want to say thank you to all of you on this site and those who created it. It means the world to me to have somewhere to come and check up on things.
I am not a religious person so I can't pray but will hope with everything in me that we all get apporved. Mr Parker thank you sir for all that you have done and keeping me positive.
I am trying to hold my head up and keep my hope alive. I contacted my Congressman's office. Rep. Don Manzullo(R) Il. and his office asked for my records and to fill out a release form.
I think this a good sign I encourage all of you to go to the congress person of your district and get involved and keep it up. I also think we should start bombarding the media. They have forgotten us like the Vets before us. we should come up with a plan to target media members colectively so they cannot ignore us.
Thanks again to all of you on here. Take care have a great weekend
John Falcetta.

To all of my fellow Vets out there, don't stand for that BS from the PDBR that they are waiting on your records. I am very close to my VA person, she is great, she told me that there had not been any request for my records. The PDBR said that they had sent out multiple request for my medical records from the VA? My VA rep. called the PDBR and got the files together and sent them by Fed Ex. (which I confirmed). Don't give the PDBR any room for the to weasal around, if they give you a excuse, give them a answer. Good Luck

Im just wondering why they are weaseling around everything, its not like you will go away..lol. I think this is all a smoke screen because the administration doesn't know how to run the board.

Its funny I have only heard of one person out of close to 10 that has recieved a response that was approved! Denials were unjustified and poorly reviewed! Its like somebody just read the application, no evidence, and threw together a quick memo just snowballing the whole deal.

I think the PDBR is playing cards over there and sitting on their ass, or im sorry, the way it looks, there is only one individual that I see on the board. So the way it looks, there is all of a sudden a freeze on everything! I havent recieved anything also from the BCMR or the AF on if my case was rejected or approved for change. Hopefully this freeze is a good one, meaning someone jumped in again and is wondering what the hell is going on!

I know i am getting quite restless. This has taken longer than my initial VA claim adjudication. Has there ever been a march on Washington by veterans? I know they sat on the White House lawn after WWI but that would be cool if a million vets marched on Washington.

Yeah. there was a march on washington a long time ago. it was during a time when vets were homeless and hungry and wanted the govt to give them an early pay-out on a war voucher-type script they had rec'd several years prior to the march. It wasn't due to be paid right at that time, but because so many vets were broke and homeless and hungry, a bunch made a march on washington to see about an early pay-out. As i recall, they sent the militia out after the lot of them and burned out their tent city. I think this was sometime after WWI but before WWII - depression-era.

[ame="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bonus_army"]Bonus Army - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia[/ame]

...commanded by Gen. Douglas MacArthur, the 12th Infantry Regiment, Fort Howard, Maryland, and the 3rd Cavalry Regiment, supported by six battle tanks commanded by Maj. George S. Patton, Fort Myer, Virginia, formed in Pennsylvania Avenue while thousands of Civil Service employees left work to line the street and watch the U.S. Army attack its own veterans. The Bonus Marchers, believing the display was in their honour, cheered the troops until Maj. Patton charged the cavalry against them — an action which prompted the Civil Service employee spectators to yell, "Shame! Shame!"

I'm just patiently waiting here in Missouri. I file the 294 when it first became available. I also submitted all the paperwork from my med board and all of the award letters I received from the VA rating me at 70%. My docket number is 008. I have only call the PDBR once and their reply was that my packet was in DC waiting for adjudication. The person I talked to told me that i would probably hear something from them before he would. I have nothing but time so I wait. Hammer

Kudos. I comented on the bonus army earlier. I try to stay away from wikpedia but this definition is dead on.

So, we should organize. None of our organizations understand what is going on with this PDBR. I belong to three veterans groups DAV, VFW, AMerican Legion. The DAV blew smoke on this subject.

We don't have to be like the regular ORGS. We could all meet via web cam in clicks. Just enough people in each click thatr the bandwith would run smoothly.

Lets organize before we all start setting dates for a trip to Washington.

Trish,

I think all imediate family members should be allowed full participation and or membership rights. It wouldn't be a regular org as we are fighting for one particular problem concerning military veterans.

Listen, I know no one wants to add to another "good old boy club". Thats why I think this may never happen. Still, its cool to talk about before everyone starts yamering for a march and 7 people show up.

Just an idea.
