I figured I would document all this here to kinda compare timeline speeds. I was diagnosed with Narcolepsy T2 back in December and was referred shortly after whenever my primary doc found out. So far I feel like mine is going super fast though. Mainly just waiting on decisions and ratings now.

-12/09/26 Narcolepsy diagnosis
-01/09/26 Referred to MEB
-1/12/26 Initial IDES email
-01/22/26 Legal Brief
-01/23/26 lawyer assigned
-01/29/26 PEBLO first contact
-02/23/26 first C&P exam appointment
-02/26/26 NMA signed
-03/18/26 last C&P exam
-03/24/26 C&P exams uploaded to VA system
-03/26/26 NARSUM signed (by myself and convening authority)
 
Mine seemed to go fairly fast as well; I think when it is a relatively straightfoward diagnosis/plan, they speed through. My entire process was roughly 1 Oct - mid-March and I did a VARR, so roughly 5.5 months during the holidays and the long govt. shutdown.

Wow, so is that how long it took to get your findings and decision, or until your EAOS?
 
I was referred to MEB on 1 Oct and my findings from the PEB with the re-evaluation request came back two weeks ago. Here is my full timeline:
EMBR Referral 9/30/25
MEBAA Original Approval of Referral 10/27/25
PEBLO Initial Contact 10/7/25
IDES Legal brief 11/4/25
First VA Appt 11/17/25
Last VA Appt 11/20/25
VA Received Appts -- 12/1/2025
Exams released - 12/17/2025
NARSUM Signed - 12/22/2025 (meeting with legal first)
PEB Unfit determination - 2/11/2026
Proposed ratings / Signed findings - 3/17/26
 
Update! Findings came back. So far this timeline seems insanely fast. Currently waiting on EAOS date and to talk to attorney about signing the findings. Updated timeline posted below:

-03/31/26 VA claim opened and closed (step1-5) in one day. (Mailed out but not able to be seen in portal, haven't received file though mail)
04/13/26 PEB closed and awaiting acceptance of findings. Found unfit with 10% DOD and 100% VA.
 
Still waiting to see if I'm referred to the MEB. Been two and a half months since initial diagnosis. Six months since I've been going to sleep medicine/placed on profile, but I've had a very slow diagnosis process because of how mildly cataplexy was expressed and majority of symptoms were just EDS, auditory symptoms, or sleep paralysis.
