Hi all, I need some advice and I can’t seem to gather much information from other posts. I have a severe leg injury from a car accident..limp, chronic pain, can’t run. My surgeon has come to the conclusion that even though he doesn’t do it often he wants to take my hardware out because he thinks it’s causing me more pain. I already completed my VA exams and my original separation date was in February. I’m on a med hold now and wondering if I should try to push off the surgery if it means they’ll return me to duty and see if it fixes my leg (it won’t) or if I should just get the surgery and if they return me to duty I should just separate at that point. I can’t do another year of this I’m ready to get out at this point. I’m just not sure what to do, I have a meeting with my PCM this week to get his opinion and I hope he will be transparent with me although you can never guess what AFPC will do. Thank you!
