Is it possible to transfer to another NG Unit during the PEB process? Thinking about transferring to a sister company.

My case was just transferred to the PEB, I'm appealing, trying to be found "Fit for Duty". I have 18 years, 3 months combined AD and NG, if found fit I'll probably reup for over my 20.

Thanks...

Not all that familiar with NG....so, you wouldn't be PCS-ing? 'Sister company'--do you mean within the same Battalion or Brigade? If so, it sounds like, maybe, that would be just administrative action to 'transfer'...

Again, I have no experience with NG and knowledge of it is very limited.

Unfortunately, I possess the same limited experience in reference to the NGB.

But, I believe a question of interest would be "how willing is your current unit in the preparation of the necessary paperwork?" Moreover, is your potential transfer to a sister company under the means of a "compassionate reassignment" or "family hardship" like request?

Best Wishes!

I'm reading over the DA Form 7652 that my Company Commander had submitted, on the first page, SECTION II: ADMINISTRATIVE INFORMATION, block #5 "Is Soldier within 12 months of his or her mandatory removal date?" Yes was checked along with the Mandatory Removal Date of 20130313. My ETS in the National Guard is 20131206, this will put me at 19 good years. I have scoured the internet and cannot find reference to enlisted mandatory removal date, only thing that I can find relates to officers.

I had also seen my civilian physician this past week, gave me a clean bill of health after reviewing the x-rays (normal x-rays) and my range of motion. Only thing that I have is mild MJL (at least it looks like he wrote MJL), he stated that this is normal at my age. No limitations / no restrictions.

I am pretty sure that you can remain as a guardsman until age 60, the showstopper for enlisted is your contract; for officers, their Mandatory Removal Date (MRD) is based on rank, Warrants simply can continue to play the game until we reach age 60 (there are always a couple exceptions). If the PEB finds you fit (which based on what you showed us above) then you can reenlist and continue onward. As far as transferring to another unit that one is a can of worms. Were you transferred to a WTU/CBWTU for the PEB process??

I saw first hand (AD) soldiers moved from company A to company B while I was on rear Det. I do not know if this is legal but I have seen it happen. Good luck.

No, never transferred to a WTU/CBWTU.
