Finally change from Gathering of evidence to Preparation for decision today. How come the status still says needed 1 document from others if they are about to make decision? I just want to thank everyone in this site..

Because they don't have your DD214. VA can't make an official determination until they have that, which is why the ratings, once you get them, will be proposed ratings. Also why VA pay doesn't start the same day of discharge but has to be backdated once they do official ratings.
Because they basically hacked in a solution to allow IDES to go through eBenefits tracking. Normally after you file a claim they expect the DD214 to be the first thing in so they can continue with the claim, so the date reflects that idea. After separation and them receiving the DD214 my ebenefits went crazy and listed all sorts of claims with all sorts of random dates. I think ebenefits creates more problems than it solves, but everyone is focused on timeline, so there it is, in all its broken glory.
