Well, things are moving lightning fast now. Orders dropped within one week of my signing my 356 (199). Last day at the office will be November 18th. Working on outprocessing and getting my DD 214 right. Next update should be starting first day of terminal.

Ebenefits still shows Prep for Decision Phase.

Mine has been in that phase for about a month and a half

Nice! My stuff just finally went to Pending Decision Approval on E-Bennies. Hoping I hear something in the next couple weeks.

Ebennies that is

Once you packet has reached this point E-Bennies is worthless, or less than worthless in the IDES process. The call center is even more worthless. They just make you feel like you are getting an update. You are not. Don't waste your time with them anymore.

Thought of the day: Don't look at E-bennies anymore. (I understand that I am repeating myself.) If you want any real info. Sign a power of attorney with a VSO (DAV, VFW, State VSO...) within a couple days they can get you EVERYTHING that the VA has produced on you (VA letter of proposal, informal communication...) This doesn't cost you anything. It is a volunteer service for SMs and Vets.

They don't do anything in the IDES, but they can be your eyes and ears into the VA's part of the IDES. Don't expect anything about the rest of the process. They can also help you "translate" your case into the VA's language.

Was acutally gonna take the POA over to the American Leigon this afternoon.

Aviator,
Thanks for your service. I wouldn't expect your status on e-benifts to change until you have ETS'ed and the VA mails out your approved-findings around 30 days after ETS (not on terminal leave). They can't send out the real ratings until you are offically no longer a SM, but a Veteran.

Thanks eagleone. I never have put any faith in Ebenefits. Case in point is that my status started immediately in Prep for decision when all this started, and it hasn't budged (other than bumping down to Review of Evidence temporarily when my case was sent from Baltimore to Providence). I have the DAV as a POA, ironically enough, my case started speeding up and I never had to utilize them.

Great to hear!

My thinking: "Prep for decision" = Completion of VA's Proposed Ratings. Unless you ask for a reconcideration, the VA doesn't have anything further to be done until you are a Vet. By law they can't produce the final approved findings until you are off orders.

I agree 100%. And I hear that they can be slow to get everything finalized when we retire. Guess I better get ready to hurry up and wait again.:(

You win. It's 8 am here now maybe I might find something out. Doubt it though. Congrats and good luck

Sorry firedawg, I thought for sure you would get em before me. I'm sure everything will work out best soon for you, and we'll be back in the same boat again.:)

Eagleone, do you have an example of what this POA looks like or what it should state?

Who did you get your orders from? I signed my 356 today and am assuming it is going to be about a week for orders. I am only going to have 45 days to get out. So trying to get everything squared away since I will be out Christmas week.

Awesome on the 356! I received my orders from my PEBLO. That 45 days will fly, trust me. Good luck, let me know how thing progress.

I dont think you can do anything without orders. Which sucks...
