latest update just received my orders yesterday approved. My case went to the Army in December 22nd 2015. just noticed that the number that we get from the PDBR isn't the same as the number you have when it reaches the Army they use a AR number that's why you can't find it on the page that post what the PDBR said, so it's taking about 6 months after it leaves the PDBR, if you can contact the place that re-issues you orders that's who has the status of your case, mine was in Virginia. they read over everything that they received, because I say things that I didn't know and had forgot that I had check ups for. that's the latest I'll keep up updated on the rest of the procedures. Have Faith it's worth the wait ( I started this case in 2013) :-)

Awsome! If you dont mind me asking what was your original rating/disability from the Army? And what percentage are you now since the approval?

the Army gave me 10%, the PDBR gave me 30 %, both shoulders and right knee, and the Army agreed, the 30% is what you need to start your retirement and they do back pay from the time you're discharged

thanks for congrats. :)

Congratulations, I'm so very happy for you

Congrats!

Congratulations brother. I have only be waiting about 14 months. So I'm trying to be patient. Seeing post like this, gives us guys waiting some motivation.

Semper Fi.

I've been waiting almost 24 months... My 2 year mark is the 25th of July so I'm hoping to hear something soon. I'm really very very happy for you! A positive decision is definitely life changing. My life has been a wreck since I was discharged. The only thing I'm qualified to do, I can't do because of my disability however the VA only rated me at 90% and I had to go to war with them over the years to get that. In 2015 they tried to take 30% from me but that didn't work. I'm grateful to have what I have but retirement would make life much better. I don't know what kind of future I'll have without it.

Anyway! I'm glad YOU WON! lol Enjoy your retirement and all it has to offer. You've earned it my friend.

hello Lyria don't get down mine started at the end of 2013, and is just getting finished. try to contact the PDBR for an update (e-mail: USAF Pentagon SAF-MR Mailbox PDBRPA) don't forget your docket number if they tell you it's gone to your branch, check with the last place you received orders(ETS,Medical etc...) and ask if you old orders have been revoked that will let you know how far along you are in the process.

good luck

I contacted them a few weeks ago and I heard back from them last month on the 2nd. This is what they wrote:

"There has been no change to your case status since our last reply, and it will likely be several more months before there is any change to your status.

Due to a number of variables and an unpredictable workload, we cannot accurately predict or estimate when a particular case will be decided."

I took that as the cases are taking longer than they anticipated and they don't know when they'll be finished. I'm not going to contact them again for another four months or so. Honestly I'm tired of trying. I'm drained. After six surgeries and eight procedures I still have to fight the VA to give me the remaining 10% to make me 100%. I don't expect much from the PDBR. I'll just wait to see what they say. Meanwhile I'll just have to suck it up.

A positive decision would be life changing so I'm just going to continue to pray. They say if you've gotten a high percentage rate from the VA that there is a great chance they will change your discharge. We shall see indeed. Thank you for the encouragement!

Hi Lyria, I understand exactly what you're going through. My case is still under final adjutication since Dec 2015. I keep receiving the same email and to contact them in four months. Its a waiting game since they're
not the ones going through all the hardship. try to stay positive and hope for the best outcome.

well with a 90% rating from the VA have you tried social security disability, normal the give a great deal of consideration to vets with a high VA rating , what every you do don't give up that's what they want, I've had to fight since 2000 with the VA to get my 100% TP, after 14 surgeries and it was always stressful waiting on them to give me a decision, so don't give up keep pushing until the know your first name LOL :) you keep pushing to rpenar, brother we all know that it is owed

I tried social security but they are saying I don't fit their definition of disabled so I was denied for a third or fourth time even after getting a lawyer and seeing a judge. It's just hard depending on where you are as well. I feel like if I happened to move states I could have a much better chance. But I'm waiting for this to pan out. I'm hoping that my discharge will change and that will definitely change my entire life.
