I have a question about this process and want to make sure I'm not getting botched.
I was informed I could request PTAD as soon as my new EAS date is posted, but was also told the new EAS only accounts for Terminal, now this could have just been the uninformed LCpl, but if so, how do I get to rate both my PTAD and Terminal if it only covers terminal?
Basically MMSR-4 will take into account your leave balance but not PTAD. So if you utilize PTAD and have leave days left over you'll sell those.
Example. Your EAS is Jan 30th. You have 60 days leave. You want to leave Dec 1st. Utilizing your PTAD you use 20 days so your left over leave would be sold. Now you can use PTAD in conjunction with the weekends if you are staying in the local area. Ie Mon-Fri x 4 weeks. Keep in mind some IPAC's will make you come in that following Monday that you start Terminal to get your orders, 214 etc. Some will, not all. I took mine straight and used all my leave for terminal. It wasn't worth selling any days for me but everyone is different. Feel free to post your dates you want to take and I can let you know what will be used for leave etc. I used to manually do them before the MOL Outbound interview was being utilized.
Of course it's all dependent on your command but I haven't seen anyone whose PTAD and terminal got denied. You're getting out after all.
What? Not at all. You get paid until your EAS then all active duty pay and entitlements stop. You start drawing either retirement pay or VA disability pay (or both for some people ie did 20+ years, TDRL, PDRL, etc) on the 1st of the month after you are out. So let's say your EAS is Dec 31st. You won't get retirement or disability pay until February 1st. It always pays in arrears.
Noticed you talking about an EAS. Did you end up getting what you want without a FPEB?
Also, I noticed you and @adamokor were within 4 days apart pretty much to the T of the VA sending your packages to the PEB and receiving ratings from them (Don't judge, I've got no time but to read while I wait for my package). So that would put me at tomorrow or Monday to receive mine if that is following any sort of pattern. Anyways, I talked to the MSGT up there at the PEB and he told me 30-50 days, an LT told me 30-40, and the PEBLO clerk told me 30-90. I just love this random guessing time. Hopefully be out by the end of December seeing as everything fits well, it should with my VA ratings...........

Yep, you said it. I've read plenty of timelines and signatures. I've been prepared for about a year now, but no matter how many times I read them, I couldn't find a pattern. There is a user whose package was sumbitted four days before mine, and I didn't receive my ratings until almost three weeks after he got his. Even when you do receive them, you will be chasing the dragon when you're waiting for your EAS, and for it to post.
It's good to talk to another Marine who is going through the process. @CrimsonArachnid and I found out we were stationed together, and met up for lunch last week. I think it relieved some stress. Best of luck to you. I don't think it will be long.
