Hi, new here but been trying to read up. My husband is national guard. Got out reenlisted last year. OEF 11-12. He's suffered with depression and alcohol/drug abuse since returning. Finally got into SUDS program over the summer and doing slightly better. Decided to file for compensation since he was unable to work during treatment. Had his c&p a week ago today. Was diagnosed with ptsd, drug alcohol abuse due to ptsd, depression. Claim is currently pending decision approval. He doesn't like to talk about his deployment and asked me to not go in with him. Came out hysterically crying because she diagnosed him ptsd, something he's been fighting for years. I'm just curious what to expect. If he'll be medically discharged or if he'll even be rated. Also is there anyway for us to get a copy of his c&p? He's not very proactive in this whole process so I'm pretty much dealing with it all.

Generally it takes three working days for an exam to show up on your records. You can go to the VA and request a copy or your husband can sign up for myhealthyvet on Line, get a premium account and download them himself.

We're on my health vet. Doesn't show anything from c&p. Also status of the claim changed Friday to pending decision approval. With estimated completion 10/30-11/01. Just hate not knowing. He wants treatment asap.

Welcome to the PEB Forum! :)

In retrospect, was your husband's DoVA C&P Examination for PTSD completed by the DoVA VBA or at a DoVA facility (e.g., VA Medical Center, VA Outpatient Clinic, etc.) or by a civilian contractor (i.e., QTC Medical)?

Thus, I quite often comment that "possessing well-informed knowledge is truly a powerful equalizer!"

Best Wishes!

Um... well it's called the va c&p clinic. It's part of the va but a different location specifically for c&p's. We had great experiences with both his appointments there. Got him back as soon as we walked it. I'm really not sure exactly what it's called, still fairly new to al of this.

I'm sorry. I got you now. Yes, it was a va facility.
Okay, great! Then, your husband's DoVA C&P Examination for PTSD should be available via Myhealthyvet upon posting.

If not then you can request a copy from the Release of Information (ROI) Office at your local VAMC or Regional Office VA within your state of residence. Take care, and I pray all works out well!

If the exams were outsourced "QTC" then the exams will not be available through MyhealthVet "Blue Button". You will have to request a copy from the VA office. I was fortunate enough to get them through my PEBLO 3 months later. Best of luck

What's "QTC"?

I really just wanted to see them to have a idea of what kind of rating he's looking at.

What's "QTC"?
QTC was the company that did my exams, they are contracted through the VA. Because they are contracted the C&P exams do not show up on the Blue Button. Your best option would be to obtain the exams through the records office and then compare the wording of his psych exam to the ratings table on the VA website.

Well it moved to preparation for notification. Any clue when something will show on ebenefits?

His claim is complete. 10% for wrist and 30% with ptsd. We're so thankful for that! Ready to get treatment started! And Louisiana va has impressed us so much. This went so smoothly and quickly. He originally filed 6/22 had his c&p's 10/14 and 10/24.
