Question about DD214

I received my findings the other day, and the PEBLO said that you receive your DD214 when you turn in your ID. According to him, some people keep their ID until their last day in the military, and mail it back to PSD...and once PSD receives it, they will mail you your DD214. I guess it's up to you which action to take.
You should receive your DD214 on your last day of clearing the installation. Meaning you should receive it before you go on your terminal leave and it only takes 5-10 minutes for them to print th DD 214. They will give you a working copy of the DD 214 with your clearing paperwork so you can check for errors. That's what happened to me and I believe that the case for everyone too. Again I am in the Army and was retired, not sure if the process is totally different for other branch.
