I have had asthma for the last 5 years with an ALC C1 code. I have a yearly RILO to take my pulmonary Fitness Exam. This years PFE was in September. I got my Rilo back with an updated C2 code due to the fact my asthma has gotten worse. I was prescribed an advise inhaler as well as a nostril spray along with the Albuterol inhaler I already had. I met with my PCM and he asked how I felt about getting out of the Air Force. He mentioned the DAWG happening this Wednesday the 16th of Nov and commanders impact statement and Va ratings and so on but he made it sound like it would be a quick process for me. Did I interpret him wrong or will it be a slightly quicker process for me since this isn’t a new condition and I have a yearly Rilo. Any help would be appreciated.

I have been through a Med board, which I was returned to duty, 2 annual RILOs, and now another MEB. I can tell you it is no faster this time than it was with my first MEB. In fact, this one is going slower because the VA is super backlogged. Per the DOD guidance, this whole process should take around 6 months from when you enter IDES, but I would anticipate 9 months to a year, once you enter IDES. But if you still haven’t had your IRILO, then definitely will be 9+ months, but will most likely be closer to the 1 year mark.

I had my IRilo 5+ years ago and was returned to duty. Iv since had a Rilo every year and recently started 4 month intervals for them due to a C2. I guess we will see.
