So I was recently separated with severance pay, 10%. It was determined my injury was combat related due to a training accident and told that when I received my severance pay it would not be taxed. I was told that through my PEBLO and through finance when I went through my ETS process since my letter from the PEB stated it was combat related and had the proper codes. I received my DD214 and in the reason for separation it states disability, severance pay, non combat (enhanced.) I asked about my DD214 saying non combat and we called my PEBLO and he stated that is normal and is what it should be. I received my final LES from DFAS and wouldnt you know it, my severance pay was taxed. Can somebody help me out and let me know what is what? Did they do my DD214 wrong and I was told wrong, or is DFAS wrong for taxing it? Thanks for the help and sorry if this is in the wrong place.
