Received PDBR Letter

@TOT31 I was separated for two ruptured/herniated discs in my lower back which occurred while in Iraq out on patrol. I did not/ have not claimed PTSD for a rating and am hesitant to claim it in the future seeing as how the previous .Gov was leaning towards taking certain rights away from those that did. When I initially got back to COnus, i went to mental health for help, they tried to put me in a group session therapy. I thought ok lets see how it goes. after my first meeting, I didn't go back. I do appreciate the Info you sent me.

When is the PDBR site going to update again? Package sent to Air Force in December. Its been well beyond 45 days. I changed addresses since I started this thing so im pretty sure I will not get any letter.

Looks like it just updated. Mine is not on there looks like it got skipped. Bummer. Maybe it will show in the next update. Dang

I'm in the same boat. Any rhyme or reason to why they skip around? They are supposed to start them in the order received, but obviously some take a bit longer. I would not have thought mind would be too complicated.

Does anyone have a link to where the PDBR Site is?
Hey sfc delatorre Google search pdbr results and follo the air Force link. I'm too intoxicated to get you the actual link. I'm doing this infantry style Ive been drinking joint since 0300

I have been out of the Army since August 2006. The Army gave me 10% for a fractured L3 vertebrae with no other conditions rated, most of them not even considered. Some time in early 2007, the VA maintained the rating for my back but added major depressive disorder for 30%. Unhappy with this, I filed a new claim in 2010 (as opposed to appealing my initial claim), citing the exclusion of other disabilities that I had mentioned in my 2007 claim. In 2011, I received a partial decision from the VA, which had changed "major depressive disorder" to "Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder with history of major depressive disorder" at 50% and leaving my back issue at 10%, totaling 60%. In late 2012, I received the complete decision on my second claim which appears as follows:

post traumatic stress disorder with history of major depressive disorder - Army Not Rated/VA 50%
degenerative disc disease, lumbar spine, status post compression fracture of L3 endplate - Army 10%/VA 10%
traumatic brain injury - Army Not Rated/VA 70%
migraine headaches - Army Not Rated/VA 50%
radiculopathy, bilateral lower extremities - Army Not Rated/VA Not Service Connected
obstructive sleep apnea - Army Not Rated/VA 50%

The cumulative rating is 100% permanent and total. Only within the past 60 days have I received anything from the PDBR letting me know that I may be eligible for re-categorization to retirement. Based on the math and the TONS of research I've done, it doesn't look like retired pay will be the lucrative option, should my PDBR decision favor retirement.

Here's what I know:
This is going to be a long-ass process (2+ years)
I am not eligible for CDRP as I did not serve 20 years
I MAY be eligible for retroactive pay if found eligible for retirement
I WILL be eligible for retroactive CRSC with a retroactive date of January 1st 2008 based on my service

So my questions are these:
Who do I contact to check status for Army?
How much correspondence will I receive without having to ask?
If I'm found eligible for retirement, will retroactive retirement pay be forfeit if I opt to continue receiving VA pay?
- If so, will I receive retroactive pay for the time I was not 100% P & T with the VA? (I imagine 40% VA would be less than what I would receive in retirement),

thank you much for the link. If I'm reading it right it is only showing decisions for cases started back in 2015. Whew its going to be a long two+ years to wait for a decision.

you got a letter saying they already received and scanned in by March 27th? I sent mine in about the same time, haven't heard anything yet. Interesting.

Me as well... I sent mine in on the 21st of Feb 2017 I believe... and still nothing yet stating they scanned it in.

I also sent in a email to the address they sent and got a response from them as well.

Ahhhh ok. I assume the docket number is included in the letter you receive stating your packet has been sent for review? If so, I have yet to receive that letter.

Yes, the docket number was included in the letter that I received. If time line holds true my paper work should be collected within 90-120 (4 months make Sep/Oct) days and within 60 - 90 (2 to 3 months make Jan 2018) days sent to judication and upon arrival for adjudication that can take take another 8-15 months for review. That pretty much covers the 2 year period and that doess not include if it is found favorable and sent to the service branch for a final decision. So in short I got a long way to go my packet was in the 600's. So the waiting game continues. As all ways no new is good news and good lucky with your case.

I was discharged in Oct 2006 with "knots down both sides of my spine" whatever that means with 0%. I couldnt bend past 60%. I received my decision back from the pdbr process already signed by them and the Army of 20%. I know that doesnt constitute retirement. Well that was in March if this year. What is the next? Do I contact somebody or does the process keep rolling? Am I even getting anything out of this? Any help would be appreciated.
