i retired 29 december 2017 due to an MEB PDRL, i uploaded my dd214 as soon as i got it, i believe the 8th of january of this year when can i expect the first payment to be of my 70% va i will not be receiving any retirement pay. im just curious because my ebenefits says the new claim that was started with IDES in the claims section states 26 jan to 7 march.

Any help will be appreciated CHEERS!!!!!!
 
I retired 21 Dec, uploaded my 214 same day. New claim started the 7th and just got final rating today.

my claim went to pending decision approval yesterday with a close date of 29 jan to feb 4 so heres hoping they keep working lol!
 
So, oddly enough my claim went back to under review status yesterday. However, it says decision sent. The Va chat person said there was a document mailed to me for the decision. I had asked them whats the deal with pay and what not since under the "Disabilities" tab, i can see my final rating and all of the items i claimed with each rating. It also generated a summary of benefits letter that says my date of claim and what amount will be paid.
 
Where am I to upload my DD214? I wasn't aware I needed to post it anywhere....assistance would be greatly appreciated!

so i checked yesterday theres a claim to verify retirement income which i wont be getting but my packet for my ides claim went to prep for notification back to pending decision approval and now back to prep for notification...... but i dont have any "rated" disabilities as of yet. but that is scheduled to close through the 27th to the 29th of this month. the one for verifying retirement isnt supposed to close untill may 5th through august 8th.... god i hope that doesnt hold up my benefits from starting on the first

caligirl i suggested you upload it to ebenfits under each claim so each claim has a copy of your 214, go to work in process and hit upload documents tab
 
Adding it under "Upload documents" worked for me. It may or may not take a PDF, so i used a JPG as well.

So heres the deal with the verify retirement income, i am baffled.

DFAS shows me under my monthly RAS getting my full amount tax free, but the VA shows me getting the difference on the summary of benefits letter?

Obviously, 1 Feb is the determining factor on whom the money comes from right?


Now, if only ebenefits/vets.gov would let me get my eligibility for Post 9/11 benefits.
 
from what ive understood retirement pay takes effect the month after so you should have gotten a check 1 Jan if im not mistaken, now lets hope both of us for the love of god gets va pay on 1 feb
 
Yeah i got my partial retirement from 21dec-EOM on Jan 3rd. Leave it to my last base's finance tho, they didnt subtract my terminal leave, so i got paid for 59.5 days of leave on my final check lol.

Still waiting for my envelope in the mail with the ratings packet. Im surprised they have not gone digital like everything else. Kind of relived tho, since ebenefits has been garbage as of late.
 
haha i wish they did it digital that would be great!!!!!! but i guess they are stuck in their old ways i guess
 
Retire at the end of OCT and it took exactly 30 days from that date to get my final VA ratings on ebenefits. I didn't get my first check until 1 JAN for December so I am still waiting on a retro payment for NOV.
 
They did do it digital! Signed by Sq CC and concurred by MXG/CC in leave web lol. Id love to keep the funds, but we all know when finance wants its money, it gets its money.
 
oh haha i was talking about ebenefits and the VA LOL!!!!
 
whelp, the completion date for 29 January has come and passed and the claim is not complete...... we shall see how my fate goes:(

Mine still isnt "complete" , have to see if i get a deposit tomorrow or what the case is
 
atleast you got the percentage right? mine doesnt even show that...... now ebenefits is down
 
Well no check from the VA like usual (USAA paid a day early.), However got a nice check from DFAS Cleveland for the amount i should have. Hope the VA pays in a few days or back pays me correctly next month, what a head ache, im so glad i have a job that pays the bills until then lol.

mine was closed today 70% VA rating hopefully when i wake up tomorrow i see the deposit but the va isnt showing any pending deposits as of yet
 
Least yours closed lol, mine went back to under review, but it says decision sent and i have my rating and disabilities available. It also gave me all the generated letters for compensation? Not sure really at this point, i tried doing the online chat thing, and the person just said wait for your packet in the mail lol. All in all, im not terribly mad since my rating is the same as what my purposed ratings came back as.
 
so i did some digging and the very first payment can take up to 15 days to pay out, then after that the payment will always be on the first or the friday before if the 1st is on the weekend. so just hold out a little longer we will get there.... cheers
