The VA faxed me my ratings a few weeks ago. 90 VA, 80 AF. 90 VA with a child i believe is like 1700. My AF pay is maxed at 75% because even if its still above 75%, the rate of pay is 75%

The way I calculated the average of my high 3 is 2902*.75= 2176.50

So, should I take the DOD pay? Or once taxes are withheld from the DOD pay it will come out the same anyway?

Once I see the VA rep I am planning on applying for TDIU which will pay at the 100 percent rate. However, that hasnt been approved yet nor do I know if I will actually get it.

I do qualify for CRSC due to one of my unfitting conditions being PTSD (70%)

What should I do?

p.s. I am still waiting on the AF to officially send me their rating but it should be 80%...

what should happen is that you get the 2176 from the AF but 1700 will be tax free. i am thinking that you qualify for CRSC for about 654/ month

can you detail the calculation plz? how long does crsc take?

CRSC amount is factored, in part, upon how many years and months you have of AD service (LOS).

And, if your military percentage was designated "combat or combat-related".

You have to apply to your branch of service for CRSC - it is NOT automatic.

Someone posted a CRSC calculator on this web site.

Have you done a search?

Are you expecting AF to retire you or severance pay? If you will be medically retired at 75% of your base pay, then that is fixed. and then your VA compensation with 1 dependant is another fixed amount.

I provided a link to help you out. These are from Chapter Five.

To qualify for CRSC, a member must be retired for longevity, (or be medically retired with any number of years of service) and have a disability that is directly combat-related (i.e. a disability that is service-connected but not combat-related would not qualify).

To qualify for CRDP, a member must have a VA disability rating of at least 50 percent and retired for longevity and be receiving retired pay or have a Chapter 61 disability retirement with at least 20 years of service.

I believe certain disability retired SMs may be entitled to apply (qualified to apply) for CRSC if you also are given either a combat or a combat-related designation, too.

Please see and read (FEB 2012) the DFAS website below for all the qualifying requirements:

That is CORRECT Livewire ;)

Your both really saying the same thing...

"and have a disability that is directly combat-related"

"if you also are given either a combat or a combat-related designation" :D

The key word is combat or combat related, a disability that is service-connected but not combat-related would not qualify
