Anyone have experience with DFAS cutting you your first retirement check before processing the VA waiver? How does the money get paid back? Assuming I have to?
I was Ch 61 retired on 25 April with 15 years Active Years so CRDP is not an option. DFAS says I am getting paid on 1 July back pay from April 26th - 30 June. And then she said that I change to an unpaid status beginning in July due to the VA waiver. So clearly they know they shouldn't pay me this week, but they are anyways. I am 100% VA so I should be getting zero retirement pay at this time.
