Good morning,
Quick background(AD, Navy); I am awaiting my NARSUM to be completed and should sign my MEDBOARD off this week to get sent to the PEB in DC. I attended my second SARP screening yesterday with the first recommendation being computer training and no diagnoses. Yesterday, I was recommended for residential treatment and labeled as alcohol abuse disorder severe (which I also disagree with). With an active MEDBOARD due to mental health, and a wife and kids at home that are my most effective way of subsiding my symptoms at the end of each day, I would elect to not go to residential. The instructions I have read claim that not attending the recommended level of care would result in an immediate ADSEP. I talked with my DAPA today, telling them my reasoning and situation as well and that I would attend the step lower level of care (intensive outpatient treatment). Is it possible to get ADSEP'd for denying substance treatment while in the middle of the MEDBOARD process?
