My perm S3 profile came in a couple days ago. The provider listed my diagnosis as schizoaffective disorder... which has not been in the HUGE list of different mental diagnosis(es) I've received in the past. But it does seem to fit.

My read is that since this has it's own code it is a ratable condition, right?

Code 9211: Schizoaffective disorder is a condition that is a combination of a psychotic disorder and a mood disorder. The mood can be an extreme high or an extreme low or both. In addition to the mood, the individual has flawed mental processes that can cause hallucinations, paranoia, and delusions.

I know this is an obvious question - BUT I'm terrified of being railroaded in the process and looped into something that is non-rated and being given the boot with only the severance. I have 13 years of service so they can't claim pre-existing on me... right?

Schizoaffective disorder is rateable. If you have been in for 13 years and are currently on active duty for greater than 30 days, then the 8 year rule should apply.

It is not likely that they would be able to claim EPTS on this.

I have been active duty my entire career.

Thanks for the info. Sounds like I'm legally protected.

Next question: I am in a job where we man desks and rarely deploy. Will that factor in on my fit for duty decision?

Depends on how high your security clearance is.

My husband is going through a MEB also for the same condition. He was diagnosed in May.

I have a Secret clearance. Many jobs in my field would require a Top Secret.
