Schofield / Tripler MEB Timeline

Peblo said the second signature is the final MEB approval signature or something like that, I'll copy the email she sent and put it below.

Good morning,

I am confirming that I received the attached DA FORM 3947 and was routed to MEB Approving Authority for final signature.

I will let you know when your case has been routed to PEB.

what are those 2 steps on June 2nd? After I signed the NARSUM/MEB findings it was sent to the PEB the same day no 2nd MEB signature required, or am I reading this wrong?
Guess I really meant approving authority for signature, like the last block under where you sign has an approval signature required.

Oh thats weird. Before I signed all the signatures were there, only one missing was mine. I guess they all have a different way if doing stuff.

Like I said it's all an enigma, nobody knows anything it just magics itself through the process...lol

Quick question from anyone that can answer it.

I'm currently almost at 23 years. August 15th I'll be there. Was notified in the meb that they used my witness statements for my onset of injury. Hoping to get Combat related injury for DOD.

My question is, is that percentage they give you for DOD and the injury seperate from my retirement? Like I'm guaranteed 57.5 % of my base pay, let's say the DOD awards me 40% for the unfitting condition, is that added to it or seperate? I'm guessing seperate, and if it's combat related is it all tax free meaning my whole retirement? The lawyer tried to explain with some calculator thing but I didn't really understand.

*16 June 2025 PEB found me unfit sent to VA for ratings
*20 June 2025 VA website says claims closed and decision letter is ready.

For reference I emailed my peblo this morning to ask about something completely different and she told me I was found unfit on the 16th. Later today I was going to look and see if my Rudisill decision was complete and saw a claim was closed. So found out both of these things today.

She says I should hear something next week.. Hopefully something good..

Sure was.. I was told 6-8 weeks for PEB and 12-16 weeks for the VA.. Was 3 weeks for both... Really quick. I'm hoping to be out by end of July. I got a bunch of leave for terminal saved up, might request an exception to policy to go past 90 days if I have to with PTDY and everything. I'll cross that bridge when I get there though.

Just started the process earlier this month! Hopefully Tripler will be fairly quick.

Just a few tips, if you haven't started your C&P exams I highly recommend when they call you to make the appointments ask for a female doctor, you do not want Dr. Robert Sussman he is terrible. I had Dr. Christina Poon with QTC for my general medical exam and she was awesome. You might be ale to request her specifically not real sure though.. Also if you have any dental requirements and are claiming dental issues, I had a 2-6 month wait for that exam. I ended up going back to new England to visit family and made an appointment in Boston to speed things up. If you have any more specific questions just shoot me a message.

Got an email this morning from the VA, saying I may need to now conduct an additional exam... So confusing this process. My claim showed closed on the VA website now potentially more exams...

Yes, it is, very. I hope you keep updating us through your process. It's motivating to see people moving along. I'm almost done too.

Every time something happens, I try to post it on my timeline so people who care know what's happening. Hopefully it's helping others. I reached out to my peblo haven't heard back yet..

I did talk to a buddy who went through this process last year and he said sometimes a claim is completed through the VA and it's to add your dependents onto your claim and it's seperate.. Not sure if this is the case or not. Will update when I get more info.

Congrats on the ratings!

Went and signed my DA199 today, as confirmed through the VA proposed ratings, 100% P&T, chapter 35 benefits for the family, also SMC-K in addition to disability pay. She also said I should hit the transition list by Friday.

*27 June 2025 hit the transition list, met with retirement services and submitted leave forms. Get orders on Monday. Will be submitting PAR for an extension to the 90 days after PTDY leave is approved.

TAA, ISAA and terminal leave approved. Leave starts 24 July, PAR submitted for extension to the 90 days. Actual retirement date 30 October 2025.

For those that don't know, if you are retiring and the month you retire has more than 30 days, do not make your retirement date the 31st. Finance runs on a 30 day calendar and it will prolong your pay an extra month if you retire on the 31st. Just sell the one day of leave for that day. Hope that helps someone.

PAR is approved by Battalion commander and onto Reassignments to request and exception to the 90 day policy.. Nice when your unit is in the field over the weekend and has internet access...lol
