I understand you on the unit. Ur the man when you're getting everything done for them but when you end up going through this you become the Taliban. The VA rating portion of the PEB takes between 2-6 months on average (meaning some may take longer but not most). VA recieved my claim 24 Apr 2013 and I still haven't got anything back but that doesn't mean your's will be that way. I've seen people get their 199 before me and my claim went up before them. You should see some movement to Pending Decision Approval within the next few weeks to a month. On this forum you see so many different times so you can't have a solid prediction. There are people on here that have been waiting over 200 day after a unfit(those are extreme cases though). Most people on here has been waited between 90-180 days(+/-) after Narsum going to the PEB before they signed their 199.
Alright. Maybe I'll just take some leave to get my mind off of waiting, haha. Thanks brother. I appreciate the quick response.

Quick question about back pay!?!?!? Do they back pay to the date of separation? I was separated on the 21st of June, so my back pay should be 3 months plus 9 days correct? Reason why is I just received my back pay and it was way short of the correct amount. They only back paid 2 months instead of 3 and the 9 days..

If u retired June 21 then the VA backdate is July 1st date you claim closed!

Also remember your backpay is the offset amount of retirement pay

Does one receive a full month of pay for active duty time after the 15th of a month. My retirement date is on the 21st of Nov so I'm wondering will that be considered a full month?

You should get mid month pay, then 16-21st should be in your final pay plus sold leave days if you sold any

How about BAH & BAS?

On 1 December I should start receiving DOD pay right?

Retirement pay won't come till January first! Setting up your retirement account can take 30-60 days

Do I get a full month or BAH & BAS? Or is that partial also

My crap is taking forever. I do find some solice in knowing that I am not the only one. I am a reservist with combat injuries (3 unfitting conditions) so I don't get regular DOD pay. Cant work cant pay bills, and they wonder why the "eat your gun" rate is up! ;)

Anyway I started the MEB process July 2011. Received my unfit memo on 20 November 2012, and am still waiting for the V.A. to give me a rating and DA199? Like I said above they put me through the MEB for 5 conditions 3 were found unfitting and 2 were found fitting (oddly enough PTSD and Depression?) My PEBLO just tells me "Still waiting for the V.A." If you call the 800# they just tell you the same thing that I can see on eBenefits or my AKO. I have had to extend my contract twice now, and am the "red headed step child" at the unit because I cant do anything with my MEB profile. This is really depressing. Any good info is GREATLY appreciated.

Update:

I signed my 199 today!!!!! 60% DoD 80% VA!!!!!

Waiting to hit transpoc list and receive my orders!!!

Sorry to hear your troubles legalbulldog.
Are you working with a VSO? Have you been in contact with wounded warriors?
You probably should have been put on active orders during the MEB process - someone will correct me if I am wrong. If you aren't working with one of the veterans organizations (DAV, VFW, WWP, IAVA, etc, I would contact one and discuss things ASAP. Have you have had any legal advice? (Not making any assumptions with your name :) )

Thanks for the response. I am 'working' with DAV, at least they are listed as my 'representative'. I haven't really had any contact with DAV other than the occasional letter. I think that they made a half-ass attempt at putting me on MRP2 orders when I returned in 2010. I was screwed from the beginning, I was a holdover at demob and they did MRI's ect... The 'Dr.' (It was a NP come to find out) said I only needed meds and Physical Therapy and my knees and shoulders would get better. I signed my DD214 and went home, went to the V.A. they did all the same MRI's and said I needed surgery and that PT was making it worse, not better. They also said my knees would never get better, it was a degenerative injury. Oh and on my MEB findings the DR. stated "future canidate for total shoulder replacement". So I got that going for me, which is nice! I have even contacted my Senator (Bill Nelson), he is a pro veteran senator. They contact the V.A. and the V.A. sends them some correspondence which basically says, "Tell him to contact his PEBLO". I feel like they just need to do some wholesale firings at the V.A. and hire some of us Broke D's to do the job, we couldn't do any worse.

OK. Nice Caddyshack reference by the way. I would hope that MAPARKER or Jason would might pick this up - you might try pm'ing them to get their opinion - sorry I couldn't be more help. I was "lucky", I'm also reserve, but was medevaced out of the 'stan and kept on orders at a WTU. I could have easily ended up in the same boat as you. Bob

I am guessing that is the difference, not being on AD orders. There are a couple of people in the same boat as me in my unit. I think that they (The VA or DOD or both) front load the people getting paid and say screw the reservist. Why else would it take this long? I already have a partial (20%) rating from the V.A. just through the regular disability process when demobing?

I am not sure of that and it is your unit dropping the ball, I was in the CBWTU for a long time and then placed on INCAP and have been on that for more then a year. I showed the regs to my CoC and they thumped the RSC and got it done.

My unit dropping the ball? Never. I just recently got an email from my new Recovery Care Coordinator and she said the same thing about INCAP. Maybe that is why I have a new RCC?

Your waiting for your 199 if your ratings are complete

Problem is ebenefits says Review of Evidence as if the VA is still looking at it to determine ratings. If 2 May preliminary rating were done. Its weird the PEB has had it since then.

You need to go after the INCAP even if you have to use the IG to get the CoC to wake up, you are losing money right now and it is full pay and BAH but no rations. What RSC do you fall under?
