Mo. I don't know what to say or think, so I'm just gonna put it out there, "in the street". Your claim from the Unfit Memo is 10 days younger than mine. I'm jealous. I've also been in the military for over 27 years now, so that's really nothing new... So, here it is:

I am extremely glad that your claim got through. Absolute congratulations on your %'s. Good luck to you and your family, I wish you prosperity.... Now, mine should be just around the corner.

yup

I really do hope you see some movement soon. The VA and IDES in general have long ways to go still for transparency and accountability. If they just provided everyone a tracking number for their case and fool full visibility on its routing, that would alleviate a lot of issues. However, that would then require ownership by the VA reps and their leadership to explain why things are not working right.

At the end of the day you are in a shorter process than you would be if you were already seperated and your getting paid, yes the VA system has its flaws but what system doesn't, eventually you'll be getting ou earlier than your contract so the fact that your getting out early makes us all anxious

IDES is an improving system that trying to adapt to the rising numbers that going in

So I checked my Benefits today and the status changed to Gathering Evidence and I freaked out and called my PEBLO. Turns out they requested my DD214 and sent my percentage, but it has not downloaded yet. Looks like my wait of 93 days is what it took and now the majority of the waiting is over. I should be completely done with the military by Febuary.
Yeah I have PTSD and MDD, 4 problems with my left shoulder and about 10 subconditions.

Congrats! My unfit finding is 13 days behind yours and I hope I hear something soon! Already been in 1 month over my initial contract end date but hopefully the end is near!

Congrats MO! Mine was sent in 2 months before u, so I agree with what Shane said. Def Jelly. So if you get 70% DOD is that 70% of your pay until the VA kicks in?

EBenny is doing a maintenance hold-on waita-minute tonight. Probably going to see movement "if" the system releases information.. Might not. We can hope; that's allowed. Still haven't seen the VA Monday Morning Workload Report for today. Even the report is backed up.

dang, looks like a some of our numbers should be called soon! literally and metaphorically... anyway, congrats on your 70 and 90 MO!

Alright Alright... Someone please shed some light on WTH is going on with my ebenefits. This morning was the first time it changed since my claim was established back in May. It started out with Preparation for Decision. I just logged on because of one of the messages by Shanecameback stating that the system was temporarily down and now it says Pending Decision Approval. What is going on? is this erronius or do y'all think this is legitimate movement?

Side note: I thought it might be relevant to mention that I do not see any claims in the historical area, I saw someone mention that sometimes when ratings are complete or close to complete they will start a new claim or something to that effect.

I agree that we are getting paid, but that doesn't preclude the fact that they want us to prepare for transition by finding employment or going to school. Without a reasonable transition date, those tasks are at great risk of failure. This puts the burden on the service member because we are in a situation to seek employment, but put our own credibility at risk if we can't meet a promise to start working.

One the flipside, we can do nothing until we separate/retire, but then we are in a position to be not getting paid. This de-motivator also creates problems because we have to put on a reasonable show of trying to accomplish those tasks even when we are well past the prescribed timeline.

Yes my understanding is that I will collect my DoD pay the next pay period after my retirement date. Once the VA gets their part done, then I'm sure there will be some corrections and adjustments. For me my DoD will be higher than my VA, so I'm guessing at some point after receiving my final ratings from the VA, I will see an adjustment.

Someday Congress my pass the concurrent receipt for us. There was a petition sent out through MOAA that prefills a letter tor your Senator asking them to support the amendments to the Defense spending bill. Click the link and voice your support.

I know there are many who say to ignore what ebenefits shows, but, for me, it provided me the quickest notification of my ratings status being done. Here are the official VA definitions of each phase. http://www.benefits.va.gov/COMPENSATION/process.asp Mind you, that you can not complete the process until you separate.

Claims Process
There are eight distinct steps that most claims for disability compensation follow. These phases may vary in time depending on the complexity of the claim, the amount of evidence that must be gathered to support the claims, and the type of evidence. You are strongly encouraged to submit as much evidence as possible with your claim to help minimize processing time. The eight steps of claims processing are as follows:

Step 1. Claim Received
Your claim has been received by the VA. If you applied online with VONAPP Direct Connect, you should see receipt in your list of Open Claims within one hour. If you applied through the U.S. mail, please allow mailing time plus one week for us to process and record receipt of your claim.

Step 2. Under Review
Your claim has been assigned to a Veterans Service Representative and is being reviewed to determine if additional evidence is needed. If we do not need any additional information, your claim will move directly to the Preparation for Decision phase.

Step 3. Gathering of Evidence
The Veterans Service Representative will request evidence from the required sources. Requests for evidence may be made of you, a medical professional, a government agency, or another authority. It is common for claims to return to this phase, should additional evidence be required.

Step 4. Review of Evidence
We have received all needed evidence. If, upon review, it is determined that more evidence is required, the claim will be sent back to the Gathering of Evidence phase.

Step 5. Preparation for Decision
The Veterans Service Representative has recommended a decision, and is preparing required documents detailing that decision. If more evidence is required, the claim will be sent back in the process for more information or evidence.

Step 6. Pending Decision Approval
The recommended decision is reviewed, and a final award approval is made. If it is determined that more evidence or information is required, the claim will be sent back in the process for more information or evidence.

Step7. Preparation for Notification
Your entire claim decision packet is prepared for mailing.

Step 8. Complete
The VA has sent a decision packet to you by U.S. mail. The packet includes details of the decision or award. Please allow standard mailing time for your packet to arrive before contacting a VA call center.

That's why you plan based off worse can scenario, take advantage of going to school while in IDES, take advantage of having time to build up a resume, IDES can take a year majority of the time, then that's what you base your planning on! Looking for employment while still on active duty them be straight with the employer and school them on the process

Get it contact with your bases SFAC and have a sit down with a counselor who get numerous emails daily from employers looking for VETS and are more n more understanding of the IDES process

You also get terminal leave which give you the opportunity to get paid while at home I which that time can be used putting those resumes to use!!

Stay active and the time will go by smooth

Ebenefits is only useful if the person rating the claim is updating the process

Did your ebennies update like this and to your experience what was really happening if it did? Reading this step it sounds like my proposed ratings are done being that it shifted to pending decision approval tonight. Should I call again tomorrow? I spoke with the 1-800 number this morning and they are the one that told me that it had went to preparation for decision and then it changed again tonight. Am I getting too excited and need to just sit back? I also spoke with my PEBLO after the preparation for decision this morning and she told me that what ebennies says means nothing to her and that all her system shows is whether the PEB has received my ratings... Sorry for so many questions

When it shoots back to gathering of evidence and says requesting seperation documents is when you get excited

Oh ok, judging by the movement do you predict that will be in the next few weeks?

Depending on how big that stack is waiting to get signed off on its possible a few weeks hopefully less

Where can we find how much ROM plays in the decision of a rating? This is regards to a hip replacement.
Any updates for your packet? I haven't seen whether or not you got your 199 yet.

Brett Nutter - What were your ratings? TDRl/PDRL if you would be so kind to share with us.
