I know Im slated to start school in the Fall figuring I would be out by then. If what I was told ends up being the case I am going to be very disappointed, but if that does happen when I start my Congressional this summer on the VA I am going to see if I can be PCSed to the Carlisle Barracks or Penn State Rotc command just for accountability purposes so I can still start school. At least then I would be doing something useful instead of just having to come in and sit around all day because I dont have a job and they just want me gone already.

In my opinion, potentially trying to get attached to a local military base or organization is a good contingency plan. I suggest that you follow-up on your option now in order to start the coordination of any potential administrative paperwork.

I agree. It just may be tough to accomplish with the budget issue and the military being willing to move someone for that specific reason. We all know how that works. It may benefit the SM but it doesn't benefit the branch so you lose....sucks. Well peblo said it going to be another 30-60 days for any updates. So I put in a leave packet to go home to ohio for a few weeks to get away from military. Ill still have 58 days when I get back hopefully to some good news. 3600 dollars later.

Good idea.. because we all know you will DEFINITELY get your ratings the second you spend all that money to go on leave but you know if you stay you aren't getting s***
My PEBLO told me I can take leave during this time and if I did get my DA199 I would have to do it all through email and telephone. Such as getting it checked with DAV or Legal then signed and sent back to her. So she made it seem like this was possible.

Well I dont know if it means anything, but my ebefebits made its first update ever. It still says, "gathering of evidence", but now in the "what we still need from others" it says, "Requested separation documents". Anybody seen this before? The common sense in me tells me they couldn't be requesting separation documents unless they completed their part.... But, common sense isn't so common.

I keep seeing people saying there going to use their unfit memo to clear CIF. Now I don't know if it differs at other bases, but hear on Schofield they will not take an unfit memo. The say its a violation of the HIPA Act. They will take a "early turn in" memo from the commander which you can use your unfit memo to get, but even then, the CDR memo has to state your within 90 days from separation and for most people, your not within 90 days until you report to transition and adjust your ETS/retirement date.
