Got my orders and clearing papers today...almost done.

So you had the same thing MAJ?

yep I had the authorization, my drill pay thing, and my ratings claim from the PEB. They actually also had a claim for rating me for when the MSC initially listed all my stuff at the beginning of the MEB. SO they closed out all together 4 claims this month.

has anyone run into problems during their final out with having to produce a separation physical and report of medical history. I was going to give my 199 and C&P exams instead.

That sounds like pre-IDES process and you should not have to do it.

Talked with DAV rep out of Seattle and got a sneak peek at me proposed ratings. 80% VA / 40% DOD but will have to wait until the PEB sends the 199 to confirm. I'm now :D and at the tail in of things I hope. Since I'm guard and already had an existing percentage I get it all paid now.

Good deal and congratulations! :)

To that extent, the end is definitely near as the :D shall become bigger for sure!

Indeed, as I quite often comment that "possessing well-informed knowledge is truly a powerful equalizer."

Best Wishes!

Just got Ratings of 50%/80%, should get my 199 next week. Thank God this is almost over.

Indeed, congratulations on the recent receipt of DoVA proposed ratings! :D

Thus, I quite often comment that "possessing well-informed knowledge is truly a powerful equalizer."

So i signed my 199 today 20% DOD 90% VA now i am getting a severance pay and in block 5 on the 199 is says the disability severance pay was awarded for disability incurred in a combat zone or incurred while performing combat related operations as designated by the secretary of defense ( 10 USC 1212) so does this mean it will be taxed but not recouped by the VA thanks in advance

Alright indeed! Congratulations on the acceptance of your DA Form 199 and enjoy your post-military endeavors! :D

As such, military service members who are separated with benefits may also be eligible for DoVA benefits albeit no DoVA compensation will be paid until the amount of disability severance received has been "recouped."

To that extent, however, there is one critical exception to this policy. That said, military service members who incurred their disability while in a combat zone or during combat-related operations are not subject to recoupment, so their DoVA compensation will not be impacted as a result of the disability severance pay received.

Thus, I quite often comment that "possessing well-informed knowledge is truly a powerful equalizer."

Best Wishes!

Indeed, who's requesting a separation physical and report of medical history documentation?

I feel your pain I'm at 258 days in the MEB / PEB process. 101 days waiting for VA ratings But I got injured in 2009, referred for MEB in 2009, and the paperwork finally got submitted for the MEB on June 27, 2013 after an IG and a congressional. The process just flies for majority of Active Duty soldiers, but for us Guard & Reserves soldiers this process is years in the making and takes forever to get done. The amount of patience I have shown goes beyond my being as I could have snapped plenty of times already.

MAJ71303 I am curious how your claim went from preparation for decision on 13 MAR to pending decision approval on 14 MAR to Prep for notification on 17 MAR. My claim went preparation for decision on 25 FEB and has been sitting ever since. I feel like my claim constantly circles around the slow, lame, and lazy pile. I am now 207 days awaiting VA rating(s) and 318 days total in the MEB/PEB.

Does anyone have any advice? I talk to the MSCs regularly, and they say "hopefully" this will happen soon. My PEBLO, while trying, has no information. My VFW rep has no information. This is enough to make me a fan of conspriaracy.

There really does seem to be something wrong with the way USAR and NG Soldiers are handled by the VA Claims personnel. USA AD Soldiers seem to be processed in a much more timely fashion. Sadly all of my conditions are a result of my active duty service and not related to reserve service, but the process didn't start for me until I was in the USAR.

Stand by to stand by. STANDING BY...........

It was on the standard "final out appointment checklist". I don't think Fort Myer does a lot of IDES cases. No one has been able to give me a final retired pay calculation (I did my own). I just don't want an problems when I get to my last day.

I finally received my separation notification from the retirement office here at Ft Campbell on Friday. Looks like I have a retirement date of 18JUNE2014. All I need to do is turn in my retirement packet Monday morning and pick up my clearing papers on Tuesday. Hello 71 days of PTDY/Leave!

Wow! Hmm, could you reach out to Fort Belvoir, and/or WRNMMCB for potential assistance?

To that extent, it just doesn't seem fair that you should have to perform a military finance duty in which is a function of the Fort Myer military pay office in my opinion.

Don't know I guess they just got lucky with my a good rater and also already receiving a percentage from the VA probably just means that they already have everything they need from me. Also realized that USAR and Guard do seem to be low priority when it comes to the VA and always seems to take the longest to process.

It takes threats and complaints just to get you paperwork pushed in state to even begin the MEB / PEB journey. You see my timeline, injured 2009, took till 2012 to just get a permanent profile, then 2013 to get state to follow thru on initiating MEB paperwork. Everything moves slow as crap for us reserve and guard guys, just be patient and grateful you have made it this far. I'm a medic and know many that haven't even made it out of the state bureaucratic tape. They do it to make people give up and get nothing....it's all about the numbers.

I wish my damn benefit letter would change already. I see no changes. Yes, for the reserves it takes 4444444444 ever!
