Got my final message today my retirement date is 7 July 2014

All right! Indeed, congratulations! :D

Hmm, out of curiosity, is it your intent to utiilize the full 90 day maximum transition authorization for militry disability retirement purposes?

Thus, I quite often comment that "possessing well-informed knowledge is truly a powerful equalizer."

Best Wishes!

Just got my 199 back after my PEB appeal. Went from 20Army/60 VA up to 30 Army/60 VA. So I get the retirement! Signed it and am just waiting:) It feels great!

Indeed, a great feeling for sure; congratulations on a successful FPEB hearing! :D

To that extent, being positively proactive definitely has favorable resulting benefits at the end of the day!

Thus, I quite often comment that "possessing well-informed knowledge is truly a powerful equalizer."

Good deal and congratulations! :D

To that extent, I finally received my military disability retirement orders 53 calendar days after signature onto the DA Form 199-1.

Due to the abundant amount of available transition leave over 60 days, I didn’t request any PTDY and had three calendar days to complete all post clearance activities. As such, I truly only had two calendar days for post clearance activities due to military post closure for an inclement weather snow day.

Thus, I quite often comment that "possessing well-informed knowledge is truly a powerful equalizer."

Thanks for the response. Unfortunately I'm just separation with severance no retirement. Not sure if that'll make the process faster or not. I also have 60 days as well. Do they ALWAYS make the NLT date 90 days out or have you seen them bring it inside 90 days? Clearing in a couple days would be really easy for me since I've already cleared CIF and ACAP

Indeed, you are welcome! :)

No worries; the (60 days leave + 20 days PTDY + 10 days post clearance equals) NLT 90 calendar days for military disability transition is the maximum date that a military service member must be retired/separated from military service.

That said, please coordinate with your military pay office (MPO) and RSO/transition office for the optimum date which meets your specific personal requirements. It seems that you already have 60 days of leave so just determine the approximate number of days for post clearance activities (i.e., five days); therefore, you would request a total of 65 days for military disability separation with severance pay.

Moreover, if post clearance activities can be completed within one day, then you could request 61 days for military disability separation with severance pay; your overall actions shall dictate the total amount of time needed to complete all requirements with MPO and RSO/transition office.

Thus, I quite often comment that "possessing well-informed knowledge is truly a powerful equalizer."

The 60 days that I'll have is with the 20 days of PTDY unfortunately. Just trying to get a timeframe on how long I can expect to be out once I get my NLT date

Okay; still no worries in my opinion! :)

Indeed, as based upon the information you provided, the 60 calendar days (e.g., 40 days leave + 20 days PTDY) is set; therefore, the only unknown factor is total amount of required days for post clearance activities.

That said, it's a very good assumption that you shall not need 30 calendar days to complete all post clearance activities! So, 60 days + TBD days for post clearance will be your potential timeframe upon receipt of the NLT military disability transition date in my opinion. ;)

The many holdups for getting just orders cut to retire for us guard folks.

Got a call this morning saying my NTL date! Hasn't even been a day since I signed 199. Final out on the 18th, just waiting on my orders to get cut now

Are you active duty dale?

Yeah it really was. Got a call early this morning saying my no later than date and didn't know you could get out earlier than that you just can't stay in past that date so I picked to be to final out on the 18th which is next week. Should be easy since I've already cleared cif and acap

So they ask you what date you want? I am already cleared so I would pick tomorrow if I could.

YEah, everything is a pain in the ass for us. Honestly, I told the lady I can send her my points sheet. She said it has to officially come in from RPAC.
