I gave copies, and my MSC didn't come off like copies was a problem so I'm guessing their ok, plus they showed up on my ebenefits under the " what we have received" section so I think the VA was ok with copies also

I get mine when I get it.. I'd like to see a lot of you young Soldiers and NCOs that have paid the ultimate price while serving this great country to get their results quicker! It's been tough the last 10 years, but it's good to see that some of you are moving fast with their claims and so that all of you can move on with your lives.

Ben

I agree with your sentiment Ben, but it truly chaps my hide to see people on here complaining when they have only been waiting a few weeks. There are SMs on here that have been waiting MONTHS. I've seen people on here who have done Congressional inquiries after waiting a month. The magic number is 120 days. Please be patient guys. When you do those inquiries you push you fellow brothers and sisters who have been waiting, further back. I know it's hard and you can't plan anything when you have no idea when things will happen. And I'm not one of those who say chill out at least your getting a check because none of us joined to get rich.

If your PEBLO and MSC is in the same building, after you sign your 199 see if your MSC can get your exam done right then, he/she will just go over your proposed ratings and if your married with kids, they'll have your bring in their ss cards, marriage and birth certificates

Well I guess its a good thing I have been cleaning and going through everything in the house lately getting ready for when we move.. I finally found my son's SS card! LOL.

Yea VA exit exams are very important to hurry up and get knocked out before you start the clearing process, specially for married soldiers with kids, when you start clearing your going to be running around all day, last thing you want is to be stressed trying to get birth cert marriage cert and ss cards if you don't have them

So, my husband's stuff on ebenefits changed to "Pending Decision Approval" on March 23rd.. What does that mean again?

Means that his preliminary rating are completed and just waiting on a supervisor signature for approval, really don't know how long it will take to do so but if your already been waiting a month you'll probably here something within 15-30 days maybe longer maybe less, really depends on how many claims before your husbands are sitting on a supervisors desk waiting approval

Nice! I am still expecting it to take up to 2 months to get to the 199 part. Don't want to get my hopes up just because, its gotten this far so quickly LOL. Expect the worse & hope for the best is what I always say!

Once he gets those ratings and you get the 199, it will literally take a couple of days to get your discharge message

It may seem far off but once you hit the 199 phase it all happens to damn fast. So prep now and start getting things in order. From signing of the 199 to retirement orders it was basically a week!

Oh ya we have been getting all his gear ready to turn in.. He is trying to get his cif appointment so he can get stuff turned in (we has some waiver to turn it in early). Going through stuff around the house, browsing houses back home, and he's been looking into classes back home. Hopefully we'll be back home in time for him to start Fall semester.. So, ya we have plenty of things to do to keep us busy until its moving time.. Once it warms up and all the snow is gone it'll probably make it seem like time it going by much faster since we can get out of the house and do stuff.

I'm pretty sure the magic number is 15 days, not 120. Just because the VA lacks an effective system doesn't mean any soldiers or vets should just accept it and try to be patient. I don't have a problem ensuring they know I'm not going to just sit quietly and be patient. This whole process can take up to a year and during none of it have I ever been given a good exit date to properly prepare. My problem isn't necessarily with getting my ratings super fast, its with being able to plan my exit. I still have bills to pay and a huge transition to plan for and I just won't take the answer given.. "Could be 120 days, could be more, could be less".

The VA system isn't perfect by a long shot but you have to put yourself in their shoes sometimes and imagine the number of claims they have to go through on a daily basis, specially with the growing number of soldiers bring out through IDES, which is the military quickest way to cut down numbers
To be honest if your going through the IDES then we got it good compared to the wait times if you file a VA claim once you seperate, a lot of us don't even take up the whole estimated year it takes to complete in the IDES
Actual verteran wait YEARS with no checks coming in, at least we are waiting but still getting paid

Just saying be patient and proactive, you haven't even waiting that long, sk don't stress yourself this early in the game
More n more jobs are getting a feel if how the IDES programs works and starting to hold positions just for soon to be veterans
Use you resources

what are Preliminary Rating's? I did a IRIS and I got an email that
Preliminary Rating's were done Dec11 and sent to PEB on Dec 27. Now saying they are waiting on dd-214. I guess I was under the old DES according to this email! need help.

I did a inquiry a few months back and I got the same response when I did another inquiry about what they said they said their response was incorrect and gave me the same reply of I was still in the development stage. It got my hopes up then crushed them a few days later. My unfit was sent Dec. 06th with one unfitting condition and I am still waiting don't know what to do at this point I feel your pain Sicotic.

Prelim rating is when your rater makes a rating decision on your claim and once their supervisor approves of the raters decision they become proposed and then sent back to PEB

Once they send back your proposed ratings then yes they wait on DD214 and for you to become a verteran for them to finalize, but they can't get your dd214 till you sign you 19@ and you get orders with a retirement date, so it looks like its out of the VA hands for now

I'm assuming that email is wrong and you are under the IDES system since you started in November. You should hear something back soon. Unless by preliminary ratings they mean your proposed ratings?

Also Sicotic, if you are losing job opportunities, let me know when you get back to the big O. I know you are planning on being near Columbus maybe I can help you find something down there.

VA calls it DES

Well went to see peblo. She says it is wrong info. There is good news they officially started on rating on march 20. Last week when I seen her it wasn't there. She said when a date is put there about 2 weeks after ratings should be finished,

Sounds good. Hopefully I hear something soon.
